So after taking my father to today's game on his birthday (72nd)I was shocked by how poor our fans were interms of noise before the game kicked off and I said to myself what song resembles us all??? And I had no doubt in my mind that if the club belted out Noel Gallaghers half the world away it would unite young and old people who would join in with a high vocal cord!!! My old man today watched the Gas at Eastville and took me to Twerton and he said today regardless of the result today he said this ain't the famous blue and white rovers anymore and it's hard to disagree with him when our shirt is plane blueon the back of our shirts and our fans don't sing! Before anyone slaggs me off yes we don't go to all the games but my old man was from the TOTE end and he took me and introduced me to the Gas at Twerton and I thank him to this day for that but come on Gas the Atmosphere at the Mem currently is worse than the football we watched today!!!!

No songs.

This goes hand in hand with something I've mentioned on other threads about a sense of apathy around the club this season. Like him or loathe him the atmosphere at the mem under bartons reign was fantastic the loudest ive heard the mem in a long long time. It's now some of the quietest times I've heard since we moved back to Bristol. I just don't think the majority of the fanbase have taken to Taylor and the football we are watching. I can't explain why aside from the obvious cr*p we witnessed today.

Hard to disagree, the atmosphere is poor. No songs. There is no buzz about the place that’s for sure - living up to its name unfortunately 😫💙

Hard to disagree, the atmosphere is poor. No songs. The football has been shocking for a year, crowds are down, people are picking and choosing games, who wants to go and see a team who rarely score at home, but hey ho, let’s give him until May.

‘Young ‘ fans can’t afford the mem’s prices ☹️💙 At least they are too young to drink as affording a pint at the Mem is tough too Didn't young fans (u14) have cheaper tickets today. Had to scroll through various social media messages to see it mentioned as pretty much an afterthought. If you're going to try and get extra people through the gates then advertise it properly

When did we last have this run of poor performances/results at the Mem? We've done little at home since JB's side lost it's way in December 2022, that's now the best part of 2 years.

Need to get the blue army chant bouncing from the north terrace to the south stand and back!! Like the Gerry Francis blue and white army chant used to at Twerton!!👌

I can't explain why aside from the obvious cr*p we witnessed today. Four seasons under Barton: 1) Relegation season - Covid times, no fans if I remember correctly. 2) Promotion season - The Mem was bouncing at the beginning of the season as football was back post Covid. We then had a bit of a stuttering start and the fans started to go quiet around November of that season. The crowd noise picked up around the end of January. Shows the fans want to cheer on a winning team. 3) Meh season in league one. Fans started brightly, then the noise fell away from November onwards. Long period of not winning at home and the crowds were no longer buzzing. 4) Sacked season - Barnsley was a good atmosphere. Beating Wigan was a good atmosphere. Wycombe was a bit toxic and the tide started turning against Barton. The only season where the crowd was bouncing was the promotion season. In line with every other promotion season. The only conclusion that can be drawn is: Its easier to sing when your winning.
