Got virus scanner warning yesterday when using this site but ignored it. Logged in today and up pops a fake virus warning asking me to call a number. Got out eventually by pressing escape and virus checked and all clear thankfully. Wondered if anyone else has malware problems after using this site. Apart from this one I don't use dodgy sites.

It was a kitchen fitter in Leeds that answered when I called the number.

Why do PCs get infected with viruses at the drop of a hat and smartphones generally never do?
You only have to Google 'large melons' whilst online grocery shopping and you can guarantee a PC will be infected within 5 minutes.

Apart from this one I don't use dodgy sites. I hazard it's having a clunky antivirus installed. If you're using something like AVG, Avast, Norton etc, bin it. They've been nothing but junk for about a decade now. Unless it's the Windows Defender giving you the pop up, or within Chrome itself?

I always have difficulty accessing BBC News. For some unknown reason I get diverted to "Aunties" current affairs bulletins.

Back in the 90's when home computers and the Internet took off a friend of mines wife bought him a p.c. for Christmas. Myself and friends went around on the evening and he couldn't wait to show it off, and, being adults though slightly immature, it wasn't long before we started searching for... shall we say adult material, none of us knowing much about computers at the time. The next day he had his inlaws over for boxing day, his mother in law mentioned she need a new T.V. and had heard they were cheaper to by online. He didn't realise what would appear in the search engine when he started typing CO for Comet, had a good laugh about that
