Well if the EFL Trophy is the Mickey Mouse Cup what about the National league v Prem u 21s! The powers that be are ruining the game for their filthy lucre! The cup is a new cup anyway. If these type of cups, will keep them entering the league, I'm all for them. When they joined the football trophy, fans said they would join the league within a few years because of it. I didn't see it that way, I said at the time, if anything it would stop them trying again. As they would get some games against football league teams, on the trophy anyway. How many years have they been in it for now, without joining the league? A lot of league 1 clubs have big squads now and the extra games, due to them joining, gives us a chance to give our own squad players a run out. I've never gotten the over the top reaction. This was never a way in. Clubs have to vote them in the league and they would only do that if they paid enough. Hopefully that never happens! But whether they play in the football trophy, will have no bearing on that.

This is stage two of the plans for B teams in the EFL. Everyone who attended a Mickey mouse cup match helped make it happen.
Watch and see.

This is stage two of the plans for B teams in the EFL. Everyone who attended a Mickey mouse cup match helped make it happen. Watch and see. I can't believe anyone can actually believe that. If they pay enough compensation, they will join the league. Attendances in the football trophy, won't have a bearing either way. If anything, they are less likely to join the league, if they have enough cup games.

Surprise they can voluntarily decide to opt out? Although the reasons given seem to be most financial, not they think it's a stupid idea to play cup games against U21 sides! What's the betting the Premiership now increases the pot of money and most NL sides eventually take part?

What's the betting the Premiership now increases the pot of money and most NL sides eventually take part? I find this bit shocking: "National League teams currently receive no compensation or protection for our young players, some of whom would feature in this competition." Does the tribunal and under 24(?) Compensation rules not apply to all?
