Sorry I was not there but I have had a recurrence of the illness so am in a lot of pain. I hope to be better after hospital treatment. So glad you had a good amount turn up Tramadol works for me Good job i have a good supply ! I've been on slow release morphine for 11 years but even that has not worked. I am starting to think that when I get wound up the disease tears it's ugly head. I was very much looking forward to the meeting and had prepared notes. Perhaps, if this is not put into remission, I can pass those notes onto someone else to use. Thanks for the thought though mate.

Hope you have some good pain meds. Hope my post goes some way to giving you an idea about what happened. Rest up brother, see you soon. Very much appreciated Ras. I am gutted I was not there. I have now been given fentanyl patch. That stuff is the bollocks. I seriously need to try & stop getting so wound up. It does not help. I very much appreciate the kind comments mate. Fingers crossed we have found this early and can go some way to getting me into a remission. sh**, I am not even scared anymore but just watered right off that it impacts my day to day life. Quality over quantity for me. Can be a very humbling thing though.

Bridgemans post:
Yes, can only echo the comments above after having to leg it early as my son had locked himself out of the house in Cwmbran so couldn't join in after match drinks (grrrr !). Great to have met JTS (at last!), Eclectic Blue and Sean Clevedon Gas (sorry I didn't recognise you despite previously having had a lift in your car !!). What was also clear with a number I spoke to was how many who used the Official Forum but never registered, who were so p*ssed off with the club by that action. Well done Mark, JTS and the grey haired bloke with glasses at the end, for organising it, you could sense the frustration felt by so many and that last they had a 'forum' to express themselves. Well done JTS too for directly asking a young man for his opinion too, very important for the young to be given a voice, us old gits will carry on talking for ever ! I really hope this gives a lot of positives to other fans and groups to get involved and up their levels of support to hold the Board to account. Anyway, well worth attending despite one or two rowdy moments where a few got a bit too over enthusiastic. I liked the suggested acronym for our 'group', BRAG, Bristol Rovers Action Group which I feel could fit nicely alongside a longer term BRISA Bristol Rovers Independent Supporters Association. Looking forward to the EGM now with my questions ready for the Board, bring it on. Only posting now as after letting my son in the house, I then went to get petrol and then visit the kebab van (I was starving !) UTG !!

I am also glad that people made the effort. Sounds very positive so far. Well done everybody. Thanks Si, i meant what i said Monday, seeing you after Mansfield made me realise what this club means to so many Gasheads, i really wasn't going to be involved, but thought of you as an example of why something needs to be done. Last night has re-ignited a few fires in me, i really want to help this club get back to where it should be (at least League Football) i much prefer to promote unity/fundraising/fun, but IF i have to ask some hard questions i WILL NOT shy away from it if there's a chance it could improve the club i love' progress and future success. And many, many thanks to Ras for his summary and opinions of last nights FIRST meeting. We can "Make a Difference" God damn it Jon. I have been trying really hard not to get my hopes up about anything Rovers because I don't know if I have it I'm me to take anymore disappointment but there you go, being all inspirational and I can't help but feel I want to be part of something positive again. f**k it, I'm in. When's the next meeting and what can I do to help?

Glad it went well, and by the sounds very constructive.
I realise this is not an easy to answer but there are lot I of gas heads like me who live miles away. Warrington in my case and get to as many games as we can especially away. FFS was away of doing some right for the club, but driven by fans choice, as things did not disappear into black hole.
This seems similar and yes I understand a different agenda, but if it can give us a collective voice can only be good.
Keeping us far away fans engaged or even involved such as an odd meeting before an away match or specific home match would be good. Other ideas is e mail list etc.
Just thoughts at this stage and happy to chat.
Great initiative though.

Holmes Gas - We will keep you up to date fella, bloody hell i've gone and got the bug back now!
Got so many ideas filling my head, few things need to settle in my opinion before any plans are laid. The Supporters EGM and Nick Higgs Q & A will both be very interesting.
Ras's idea has legs and maybe sometime soon we'll have a live Q & A of our own, afterall we are no secret society and are ourselves open to questions and scrutiny.

UTG Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Thanks HG- Mark, P49 and myself are meeting AGAIN tonight, if we have any updates we'll let everyone know. The meeting on Tuesday was very encouraging and the good attendance has given us belief that maybe there are some things we can ALL do to help take the club forward in some way. It is our duty as Gasheads to search for answers and help improve the clubs situation in ANY way possible, if we can't then it won't be for a lack of effort. UTG

Pirate 49, Mark and myself met (again) at The Wellington tonight, i'd like to add that Mark forgot his wallet...Hmmmmm
- We reviewed Tuesday's meeting - Decided upon some actions based upon what was agreed at that meeting - Made initial plans for our next meeting - Discussed topics for the next meeting
We thought Tuesday's meeting went really well. About 50 people there, all showing an undoubted commitment to the club and wanting steps to be taken to bring about improvement. Besides improvement on the pitch we want to see a far better relationship between the board and the fans and more transparency in the running of the club. Other areas covered were the possible appointment of a CEO (with a knowledge of football!), a Chief Scout; and far more Reserve/Professional Development games...especially with local clubs. There were sometimes differing views and many spoke; but there was respect throughout.
Almost all of the feedback we have received through various channels has been positive.
* We intend writing to Nick Higgs to request details about the Q&A (date, time, structure); and clarification about the 'Review' ( who, what, when...reported to whom?) If no answers are forthcoming we will not let it rest there!
* We have pencilled in TUESDAY 1st JULY for the next meeting
* Topics could include: - review of what is said at the SC EGM - plan how to respond to the Q&A (if it happens!) - respond to developments over the next two weeks - agree actions should progress in the close season not be satisfactory - decide if we want to formalize these meetings under a named structure
If you have anything to add please contact any one of us. Please watch this space. It may go quiet now and again but we're not going away!

Please watch this space. It may go quiet now and again but we're not going away! Important words right there. Might the club adopt this kind of approach wrt keeping supporters in the loop rather than half hearted lame stories from poor Kirsty. Like, shouldn't there be DAILY updates on transfers, UWE, other important issues. At a time when peoples heads are turned by the WC and still not to terms with the farce of the last few seasons, zero involvement will force a change of habit that won't be in the BoDs interests. Here's trusting that you guys stick to your word and I hope to God that the ears in the walls are taking notice and considering positive action rather than the defensive door shut policy that they are renowned for.
