Please watch this space. It may go quiet now and again but we're not going away! Important words right there. Might the club adopt this kind of approach wrt keeping supporters in the loop rather than half hearted lame stories from poor Kirsty. Like, shouldn't there be DAILY updates on transfers, UWE, other important issues. At a time when peoples heads are turned by the WC and still not to terms with the farce of the last few seasons, zero involvement will force a change of habit that won't be in the BoDs interests. Here's trusting that you guys stick to your word and I hope to God that the ears in the walls are taking notice and considering positive action rather than the defensive door shut policy that they are renowned for. Si, i would have loved the summer off, away from all this rubbish just like everyone. But, getting relegated has really rubber stamped the need for a massive shake up at the club. We cannot go on as we are, the club has been sliding for over four years now, and frankly there is no real evidence yet that things will improve. If nothing else we hope to put some pressure on the club to go all out to identify the underlying problems that exist within its structure, if the club react to our growing group of concerned supporters they may issue more information to everyone. In my opinion "Communication" between club and fans MUST IMPROVE.

Ras, i think we'd like to see 75 at least, our problem mainly being "The World Cup" lots of footy fans like to watch every game, so we're up against it in that sense, but i'm confident the future of our club means so much to so many that even at a difficult time the caring concerns will draw people to have their say about the club they love.

Do the Welly have games on? Yes mate on big screen, but due to our numbers we need to use the Marquee. Hoping to see even more there for our next meeting though, our club's future is being discussed. There are no World Cup games on the 2nd or 3rd of July if that's any help.

Thanks Chisel, We were aiming for Tuesday the first (provisionally) but maybe we will have to consider Wednesday the 2nd July.
Just hope we get a good attendance as before. It was fantastic meeting so many amazing Gasheads and the debates were cross sectioned and very encouraging, i think everyone took something from our first meeting.

Hi everyone,
There is a big article in today's Bristol Sunday independent (about 6/7 columns long) which addresses the protest meeting which was held at The Wellington Pub last Tuesday. The article is very positive and describes that over 50 Gasheads attended many of them who have supported the club loyally for 40/50 years. It goes on to state that the attendees took a massive part in discussing and debating the supporters' greatest concerns with the club(through the agenda used on the night) and also allowed for many indivduals to speak up about what they considered to be the big faults and issues which need addressing by the club asap, in a constructive and respectful manner. The article concludes that a vote was taken by those who attended to demand action from the club hierachy on those concerns agreed upon or otherwise there will be peaceful protests taking place at the first home league game of the season.
The paper costs £1 - hope many of you buy it to read it.
Cheers,
Mark

Well, The Supporters Club EGM has come and gone, some good questions were asked and plenty of things were said in what was the first real communication since our relegation to Non-League football. We will now see if people are encouraged and hopeful as a result.
An interesting and poignant email we received today from someone who attended the meeting on 10th June:
I was the young supporter who attended and i just wanted to let you know how good the meeting was and i have between 10-15 other supporters attending next time.
Regards ......... ...........
I think the gauge will be - At our next meeting (July 1st) will we get more or less attendees?

Is this just a general fans meeting or as part of an independent supporters club guise??

Is this just a general fans meeting or as part of an independent supporters club guise?? Completely open meeting for any fan to attend..no hidden agenda! As a group we haven't even got a 'working name' yet.

As P49 says this meeting is open to EVERYONE.
In my opinion you should not have to be a member of anything, or be affiliated to anything to have your say on Bristol Rovers Football Club.
Bristol Rovers is, as the name suggests "A Club" so if you support them you're officially a "member" in my eyes. I can't remember ever having to show any details to anyone when paying for entry to a match, so if you're welcome enough to pay admission, you're welcome enough to have an opinion.
That's purely my view by the way.

If it was a meeting only about the ISC,I most likely would not attend. As it is,I will go again to the next meeting.

I think you recognise we are no "Board Bashers" but we do require some more definitive answers from the board and some more explanations as to why we should trust them to get it right this time, when the past seems to indicate otherwise. By the way, my above post was not a slight on the SC, i think the SC do any incredible job especially as most are voluntary. Their meeting last night quite rightly was for members only as the meeting was their EGM. I actually felt sorry for Jim Chappell et al, because the meeting should have been about progressing, fine tuning the SC, but instead it was hijacked because of the failures of the football club as a whole.
