The club really need a decent cup run or improved league performances to lift the apathy around the club. The poor end of last season, MT’s tactics coupled with a group of players knowing they wouldn’t be here when the new season started, a real feeling of negativity surrouded the club. Then the powers to be decided to raise season-ticket prices which proved to be too expensive for some fans, especially families along with no way of paying with instalments, have all added to the downturn in attendance’s. Good to see the club making the Crawley game quid a kid & hopefully a few more incentives in the future along with an upturn on the pitch will start to see fans returning.

Thanks. I'll take the medal as a Trophy normally has to be given back. If Rovers fans stay away because they don't like the football or the results then that is up to them. I've asked this question before: What would fans rather have, Playoffs/Promotion from league 2 or mid table league 1. It sounds like they would rather have promotion from league 2 but that has to follow a relegation. Traditionally, we have always been in this division. With a few seasons of promotion to the 2nd division 3 times in our history. Now, it feels like we are moving towards being a division 4 team with promotions to division 3. Those fans that are staying away due to the football, I have called 'plastics' before and I still think they are plastics. I'm a plastic by this description. Not just the football being bad, but the facilities, general feeling on a matchday, poor value for almost everything that's available to purchase, uninviting for my kids. That said, I've got shirts, a tattoo, watch most games and evangelise about the GAS on my travels. I'm sure the club and finance people would love 10% of our plastics to regularly attend games...but i can't because it's sh**! You are not plastic, seen you at many home and away games over the years. You have a young family, I don’t blame you making a judgment on your time and money right now and favouring your wife and kids over what we are witnessing. This said, if we start entertaining and winning tomorrow and you go all the time again, it doesn’t make you a bad Father as you would obviously make up for being at games another way. I don’t think think people can walk into homes see partners and kids and say “oh it was boring and terrible again” whilst looking at them knowing they put crap over them continually. People like to also see joy in people, if something continually doesn’t satisfy you, you stop going. My Father is 78 and in good health, we were die hard away fans, we’ve stopped going to bar 4 or 5 games a season on the road. Dad doesn’t need it, of course he’s getting older but he can’t justify to my Mother (his wife) that 5 hours in the car for a regular defeat and handbrake performance. We will start going to away games when we have a manager again who goes out to win games before protecting a point first. Rotherham away was acceptable as it was a fresh brand new season, we are not travelling and doing a 8 hour round trip to see us set up to protect a point at Wigan and Blackpool, we’ve been to both in the past several times. I am today plastic fan I guess 👍

I'm similar to 79 in some ways.
I fell out of love with Rovers a few seasons ago and I can't seem to find any reason to reconnect with the club.
Me and my son were season ticket holders for a long time and we loved the DC years in particular.
We both felt a real connection to the club, the manager and the players but now that's gone I can't justify the time and expense to sit in a shithole ground with over priced, poor food and expecting not to win and not to be entertained.
I watch most games on BRTV (which I pay for) when I'm not watching Bath City. Their ground is crap too, but it's 20 mins from home and half the cost.

It’s funny how the facilities come up when the football is crap. For many (not all) this all falls by the wayside when the team is doing well.

Thought I would chip in here, the last games I physically watched were under Barton, I rapidly lost interest, in fact I was more interested under Garner and Tisdale, somehow I've kind of lost the love, a real real pity, I only ever listen to it on the radio, and sometimes just on Bristol Live these days. The magic is,if not lost, diminishing.. rapidly

I thought I'd said I was happy to over look the facilities because of the connection to the manager, players etc but looks like I didn't.

I think I'm missing something. Maybe everything. Discounting the Mickey Mouse Cup, which of course I do because it's meaningless, we've won three of the last five League 1 games. You know, the ones that actually count. That's promotion form. There's always one that jumps onto the forum using facts. 🙄

We’ve spoken about this and I agree and slightly disagree. The winning though has always been from Div2 and National League as it’s as if you go to places likes Rochdale, Crawley, ACCY and forget the dire state our ground is. The last time I saw true winning football at the Mem was around the pre millennium under Holloway when we had play offs season and the collapse that season with some great football before it. Do you go to Reading away, you come back to the Mem the next week, it’s sobering. It’s clear the ground holds us back, Luton are a one off doing it in a terrible ground but even Kenilworth wateres all over the Mem. I agree with your point, the Al Qadi legacy is a training ground which Exeter have now and I have no belief at all this new lot will build not even one new stand.

So if someone decides the product on offer isn’t good value for money after years and years of going without fail, in your mind they are a plastic? Dear me. Yep. Anyone that uses the term product when referring to football is the very definition of a 'plastic'. Anyone who looks at going to Rovers and use the term "value for money" is a plastic. Rovers transcends product and value for money. It's about identity, it's about territory, it's about belonging.

Isn't about time we heard from the owners, is it too early for a "we want the owners out" chant?
Don't attend games, dont hear from them, what are they doing here.
They aren't doing anything to connect to the club, us fans, at least Wael made an effort.

If you go back and look at the posts when Wael and family took over, I'll bet you a pint that this forum was full of the same crap. The owners aren't doing anything. The owners need to tell us what is going on. Remember the days when the Al Quadi's were called fake sheiks by many fans? Up until the point when Wael wrote off the £30m loan, people were still questioning him. As fans, we need to think about what we want from owners. If it is improved stadium, improved team and ultimately promotion then we need to pay for it. If we are not prepared to pay for it then how can we complain if the owners don't see a return on their investment and don't bother.

Singing "City get battered, everywhere they go" Singing "Never felt more like singing the blues" Shouting at the sh** ref. I feel connected. The Rovers is my church, the day I stop going to my church will be a sad day.
