Unfortunately, when Holloway was manager and we were near the top of this league all season, our owners needed money to help pay the loan taken out to buy The Mem, to do this we had to sell Roberts and some of are other better players, Cureton was unhappy with this and asked to leave as well. Holloway says he went to the Dunfords to ask for more money to bring in the players he wanted, but the owners wanted the money to pay off our debts. So began the slide down the league and relegation to league 2, we have never really recovered from that and have struggled on and off in the lower to leagues ever since. The Mem has been a big weight around the neck of our club for a long spell. The Dunfords did allot for this club but the never had the finance the club needed. i am sure if Ollie had had the financial backing our present manager is getting we may never have been relegated to league two and things could have been very different. Cureton and Roberts didn't leave until after failure to achieve promotion

I thought it was more to do with Mauge, who was injured on international duty, being replaced with two youngsters as Holloway(?) didn't want to break the wage structure and so upset the rest of the squad? Rovers would have never turned down the bid for Roberts, regardless of any loans on the Mem.

Draw in added time for first match. Expect he’ll be pleased with that.

The Title of the Thread is the most depressing on Gaschat.
To the old men who keep bring this up. We have moved on. The Club, the supporter base, the world.
Please stop with the noise.

Anyone that doesn’t like Holloway could simply not open a thread with “Holloway” in the title? Those that still love one of our living legends can carry on posting and linking him with a return one day!

Draw in added time for first match. Expect he’ll be pleased with that. They were down to 10 men in the 9th minute. So, I reckon he would be happy with that.
