True, I was replying to pucklegas, who said it was a poor atmosphere š From my perception the loud support and backing was from the KO, NOT after we were 1 nil up, let alone 3 up. It surprised me and I think it gave the players a lift that Saturday was forgotten or forgiven. Exactly. Very welcome. Surprising. Supporters who turned up were very supportive and loud.

It's like trying to be friends with you ex (who you loved and hung on their every word) new partner and wishing them a happy and prosperous life together.
Funny thing is if you do the classy thing and wish them well, you soon realise they are welcome to each other and the ex was a nightmare. You can then have a chuckle to yourself, enjoy your freedom, then the (1)ex wants you back, then you laugh some more, before you meet someone new who was probably someone else's nightmare(2) but may take you a while to realise.
1 NEVER go back. 2 Maybe that spark might be fantastic with someone else's ex and you create something good together. Gasify Gaschats Agony Aunt

Problem is, that's easier said than done. It won't happen whilst MT is the manager. It's like trying to be friends with you ex (who you loved and hung on their every word) new partner and wishing them a happy and prosperous life together. There are those still calling for Ollie, I doubt those who want Barton back would stop while we are going through a bad spell. The answer to calls like those is to win and play well. Easier said than done, but that's football. I agree with others that this is season 1 of a longer term strategy, one of consolidation and bedding in the new crop of players. Unless MT loses the dressing room or we really are in trouble, I don't think he'll be sacked (yet). We can't keep churning managers, coaches and players. It's expensive, disruptive and ultimately gives us a bad reputation, putting off the good ones we want to attract going forward. As far as MT not being sacked yet, he seems to have a different view and it seems that he warned the players last night if they didn't improve he wouldn't be at the club much longer. Rovers boss details 'honest conversation' about position prior to Charlton win www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/matt-taylor-details-honest-conversation-9597833#ICID=Android_BristolPostApp_AppShareHopefully last night wasn't a one off and the players will now take the game to Burton on Saturday, a win there and, amazing, we could be just another win away from a top 6 place.

The Huddersfield v Barnsley result could seal his fate, just a fortnight ago they won 4-0 at Bolton, since then it looks like they've lost 7 league and cup game out of their last 8 games.

With so many games in October I think itās fair to judge come November. We still must improve despite the two wins on the trot.. letās hope we can build in confidence and start to find some consistency.

Ok, Iām showing my age here. Why are people so up or so down with apparently little in between these days?
If the country had been like this we would never have won World War 2!
Talking about little in between there seems to be nothing in between some peopleās ears either. There is no point to us slagging each other off on here. There is little point slagging MT off either. Have a go with suggestions on how he might improve things and debate how much ability he may or may not have by all means. Maybe even speculate on how much say he (or GF) had on recruitment or how much the owners interfere (or help?). Attacking any of them doesnāt help and probably means that nobody in any sort of authority will get to hear about it (perhaps other than a āthe natives are restlessā type reference).
It was good to hear the positive attitude at the start of the Charlton game and again after the halftime break. It seemed a bit muted at 3:0 to me and we werenāt giving it much to encourage the team to see the game out when they got one back. Iām sure we all felt a bit jumpy at that point but getting behind the team was just what I felt they needed. Very little seemed forthcoming at that point and it got even quieter when they got another. A decent cheer (mainly relief?) at the end helped but there were still people baying for MTās blood! Embarrassing - or it should be imo but it didnāt seem like people thought it was?
Glad we followed up with the win at Burton (sorry to miss it but I was in North Wales, lots of funerals lately).
Patience is a virtue, I was taught at school, but it seems to have been overlooked this century - yes I know Iām very much ālast centuryā. You need patience and optimism to support Rovers. If you canāt manage that please try not to attack the club. (That means to me, the owners, management, staff, players and supporters). Sticking together through thick and thin tends to win out eventually. At least we still have a club to support unlike some. UTG!

6 points out of 18..... Lets see how the next 5 games go. We need 7 points to show there is some progress and not a turgid dogfight for the season, with little attacking flair to at least make it feel like some value for money.
