It is one of the saddest things ever that my two my two favourite locally born sportsmen, Marcus and Syd Lawrence (born in Gloucester), have MND. I know there are bigger and worse things going on in the world but this does seem so close to home.

It is one of the saddest things ever that my two my two favourite locally born sportsmen, Marcus and Syd Lawrence (born in Gloucester), have MND. I know there are bigger and worse things going on in the world but this does seem so close to home. One of my closest friends in Scotland has MND ,he's on borrowed time around 50,% die within 12 months of diagnosis,he's 18 months in. It makes me want to cry when I go to see him especially as he is so massively positive, off to see him on Bute at the end of this month,he told me something very profound. " Clive it used to be I couldn't do things I could do a month ago ,then it was a week and now it's a day". Inspirational doesn't cover it .

Pretty impossible to explain all the feels that interview gave me.
I'll just say thanks Stewie. Thanks for the goals a little before my time, thanks for those golden memories with DC and moreso thanks for showing love and hope in the face of that cruel disease.
I've lost a loved one to MND and people like Marcus raising awareness can only help.

It's an awful disease, my father in law passed away with it and my wife and her sister both have a 50% chance of getting it. There are lots of different types, with some types, people can live a longer.

I once travelled to Ipswich town centre for a meeting. I looked out the office window and noticed Marcus Stewart. I've no idea what the meeting was about but as a Rovers fan, going through my head was what a fantastic player for us. Now I think, what a fantastic person
