That 27 unbeaten run from the start of the season was absolutely magnificent.

I remember sitting at home with my Rovers scarf on (No replica shirts in those days lol!) when we secured promotion with a 0 - 0 draw at Saffend. I was a very proud 11 year old 😁 Those were the days!

That 27 unbeaten run from the start of the season was absolutely magnificent. And the 5 from the previous season, 32 match unbeaten run. Went to every match. Sad when we lost 1-0 at Wrexham. We celebrate now if we go a handful of matches unbeaten!

Great memory of celebrating with the team at Southend after the game. No memory of the game to be honest but the result was all that mattered. Sir Alan Warboys sharing my scarf as we sang You’ll Never Walk Alone! Long train journey home.

I went on the pitch with my Dad to celebrate. I was 8 and didn’t know what promotion was. In fact at that time I had no idea about league tables points, or who we were playing . But I do remember being really excited on Saturday mornings before every home game.

Favourite season, favourite almost unchanged Rovers team of all time. No one will ever tell me that Don M didn’t know his best team. It was set in stone! Things have changed now with the squads we now have.
And after the disagreements I seemed to cause last Tuesday when I said we had enough chances to win at Swindon I remember quite clearly that first match of the 73/74 season at AFCB. We won 3-0 (we rarely win at AFCB but we did that match). But when it was 0-0 AFCB hit the bar twice in the first half and we could have lost that match. We didn’t, and the rest of the season was history. Not losing until February. Fine margins, as they always are. 😉
UTG!

Jim Eadie used to make amazing saves that defied gravity.

What a beautiful, simple kit too. Quarters front and back. I was six that season and have loved Rovers ever since.
