That doesn't actually sound that bad to be honest. Out of 60 points, we have taken 20 which is one in three points a game. Once your home form struggles, you are on relegation form. If you take this season though for example. We have only played 1 side below us away, and beat them (Burton). So we've not had easy away games.

By that logic if you look at our home games we’ve not had it hard and only beat fodder (other than Charlton)

We had over £1.5 million transfer fees on the pitch today, the owner said Premiership and Championship was the aim. Reading as a club are in turmoil, when are we going to stop the excuses and just do an Oxford, Stevenage, Lincoln, Mansfield and be a challenging side or fan owned Exeter? This manager is a defender manager and he has to change.

That doesn't actually sound that bad to be honest. I think that says a lot about us as a club if you think 20 points out of 60 and a minus 15 goal difference doesn’t sound too bad. That's an average of 1 point each away game, this season it's just over 0.5 points, so we've got worse rather than better despite spending over £1m on players. Only Cambridge, Burton and Crawley have worse away records and if we ever stop winning our home games we could well join them in the bottom 4.

You can’t tell some, a good showing minus any points seems to be the new bar. If today was a side who won more then often I’d behind everyone saying we were unlucky and be proud of the side but today was a continuation of a calendar season now for an ultra defensive manager. It felt dirty at the start of the season how we went about the draw at Rotherham and how we all praised it, I did back then, now not, I don’t want to a rovers side with a manager going about his job this way. Cogs had a brilliant away formula, he was out and out route one at times but he utilised Rollin, Upson, Ogogo, Upson, Rodman, Leahy, Nicholls and Tyler Smith to do it at Portman Road in our 2-1 win with no JCH. This manager could never do this, and he’s had twice the budget Cogs did as well.

I know Thomas splits opinions but I thought he looked good v Shrews and was unlucky with the crossbar. Taylor could of took the risk with 15 mins left. Basically we had NO attacking players from 67 minutes that could be nearly 30 mins with extra time . The reading dug out looked a bit bemused!.

Disappointed to read in this thread that Forde is a bad apple at the club, in who's opinion would that be?

And what did Reading offer ? It was a fairly even game,we were never really troubled. I thought they were crap tbh, we throughly deserved a point it’s a shame but I could see something today for the first time in ages, fight and commitment. Green shoots for me, can’t wait for Chris Martin to be back and get us on song again. I strangely enjoyed that for a change, we will be fine. Not crap Marshy but humbled by a great effort not seen thus far this season, I don't mind losing a game as long as we are competitive and I believe we were for most of that game.

Brilliant end to a game we ultimately lost due to poor officials and a selfish twat of a player. We need to look at playing bilongo as a centre forward all the time the bloke was immense today Matey your well out of order with that remark, I and most would probably have made the same reaction, never like blaming the ref but that guy today has to be fairly labelled a homer as for the Lino, what's the point if the ref has to make you every decision! A young player who will learn from his mistake hopefully, no interaction between him or manager has he left field is probably all the reparation he needs?

Ruel wasn’t playing well & was a tactical change. Scott ran lots & generally (not always) plays 65-75 mins. I think the Bilongo experiment was a worthy one & the players rallied tremendously.

I agree with you here and it’s what troubles me still about the manager. There’s a difference between playing it safe and inviting pressure on. I felt his changes and going to a 5 invited pressure. We may have an Ian Atkins on our hands here who signs some good players, settles things down a little but is a little boring and can’t get them up to r table. Someone else may come in after him and benefit from his work.

Forde's hardly 17 yr old Shaw, he's played enough games to know that kicking the ball off the pitch would lead to a second yellow, all you can hope is that he doesn't do it again whilst playing for Rovers.

He ignored a blatant foul by a Rovers player right in front of us - it was obvious. He wasn't a homer - just completely inept. Personally I thought he guessed most decisions.

Promise was injured Forde was sent off Sinclair's 3rd start in a week. Ruel is being carried at times normally with a 11 players let alone 10. We looked threatening towards the end too.

Matt Taylor away wins, we’ve taken the lead in 4 of those winning games. The driving instructor would say, we are not going forward because the handbrake is on to the student. We are set up to defend and Nick wins away from home, today was another example. Would 11 men have stopped the goal? But we chased it as usual and ended well, its dejavu and the driving instructor is saying, you are going to fail unless you change tact. For many years,I have followed your posts and logic? With keen interest. I often agree with some of the things you have to say. Sadly I am sick to the back teeth of this Handbrake sh it.

I genuinely hope you are well Tbone and yes we go back a long way on here. It takes all sorts on a forum, you will remember Joe Banana’s?! I may divide opinion but right at the end of today’s game I was still jumping up and down shouting over the line?! I wanted us to win of course, I’ve missed one home game, seen two away games and watched all on TV. He lost me after that Swindon game, last week was park your bus stuff, handbrake and today I hope proves me wrong and is the start of performances like this most weeks going forward. I hope things with you are well mate.
