Do Rovers fans stand against all forms of hate(as per the fundraiser message) or just certain forms?
I only ask because as a person who has attended hundreds of games, I have seen alot of hate from Rovers supporters and worry that this gesture may appear hypocritical.
Unless I'm wrong, this lad received some nasty messages on social media? Who cares about that in all seriousness? Those sites are full of cretins who are best ignored.
Good luck with the fundraiser though.

This seems all a bit of an overreaction when it seems likely the one racist message SF received wasn't even sent by a Rovers fan?

Isn’t one racist message, one too many and requiring of giving support to the victim? Spending £300 on a flag seems an overreaction for one message to me, which is what the official statement from the club stated was the case. "Shortly after the match an account on Instagram messaged Shaq, the contents of which contained abusive and racist language."

There is no place for racism, if people want to club together and buy a banner as their way of showing support, that's their choice.

There are a few things here. Do I believe that Rovers have more racist fans than other teams? No, but that misses the point. We know that we do have Neanderthals in our fan base because we’ve all heard the Omochere song being sung, by people who whether it be through racism, ignorance or a combination of the two, thought it acceptable to sing it. We need to challenge this. We also have a player, who happens to be a great prospect, new to the club, who doesn’t feel particularly welcomed at the moment. If this flag helps to change that even in a tiny way, then it is a good thing.
