If Wael had a new worth of £400m he wouldn't have sold 60% to some complete unknowns. Whyever not? If you had a net worth of £400,000 and were owed £20,000 wouldn't you want to get a big chunk of it back? Wael has never said the debt is written off and I'm sure it's not. He'll get all or most of it back eventually. He's already got 60% back. I’d be stunned if the Kuwaitis paid that much for us.

If Wael had a new worth of £400m he wouldn't have sold 60% to some complete unknowns. What Wael said, when we were taken over: "Over the past few months as discussions have developed it has been clear to me that Hussain and Abdullatif not only have a consistent vision with ours for the club but they also have the expertise and resource to help move us forward quicker. I'm not sure what evidence he asked for, if any. As I’ve said before. A terrible judge of character

I’d be stunned if the Kuwaitis paid that much for us. I'd be stunned if they didn't. Or do you think Wael has written off about £20M? What Wael has lost each season is pretty irrelevant to the club's market value, although we've no idea what he paid initially to purchase club from NH nor what value The Quarters has added to the club's value.

I really hope we start winning games soon so this can all go away, cos lets be honest, its not happening. Or even better, win some games and get the Mem development plans out there so we can focus on that. Development won't be happening under this lot. Full of smoke and mirrors. What have they actually done apart from take the matchday experience back by 5 years...

I suppose if being generous we could say no news is good news, since that means the new stadium plans might still be active. But that is being quite generous.

What if they are trying to get buy in from all the different stakeholders and drawing up the plans to submit to the planning office, so it won't get refused three times? I don't understand this obsession with wanting to know about the plans too early. They announced they wanted to develop the stadium around a year ago. The South stand didn't get 'finished' until 3 months later. Well, it's still not finished tbh. Give it until the end of the season. If we haven't heard anything by then, I'll hand out the pitchforks.

If we mean the quality of football on offer it has been sh**e since about 2018 bar a few months under JB just before promotion. Bars and catering - the food huts in the ground move quicker than they have in a long time. The food in the huts, on the East side alone, has not been this good since this side of the pandemic as they’ve returned back to Piglets. Don’t use the bars enough to comment but seemed fine the one time I did. Matchday entertainment - don’t think we’ve had anything this side of the pandemic but the last two games we’ve had the freestyle guy and the Gloucestershire cricket champs. In this respect we’re actually moving forward, IMO. Not saying they’re doing anything with the ground (believe they are for what it’s worth), not getting involved in picking the team or that they’re paying their bills on time. But the matchday experience is slowly improving imo.

Don’t forget the fan zone with live music which I enjoy grabbing a pint of Rovers Tbf I think a lot of that was down to Gorringe but to say it’s gone back 5 years is madness

Trying to look at this and the last eight years objectively in a timeline format, this is what I can see:
Feb 2016 Wael and the Al Qadi's purchase equal 23% x 4 (92%) stake in the football club. During this time, things start well, we are promoted whilst talks with UWE progress, and then stall.
August 2017 UWE deal cancelled.
Early 2018 DC sacked. This is where rumours start to fly. Training ground frustrations, rumours of Hani not being committed to the club, debts not being paid (remember Fencegate?), Liam Scales deal, owners don't know what they're doing etc. I seem to remember this era being rife with anti-Hani rumours, Starnes and Hamer at odds with each-other, all sorts - others will remember more than me.
Aug 2019 Fruit market announced as target stadium, on opening day at Blackpool
June 2020 Wael purchases shares from his brothers, owns 92% of club. Rumours seem to stop for a few years. We are relegated but the leaks seem to stop, all is positive behind the scenes with Wael backing Barton and getting us promotion, developing the Quarters training ground, etc.
April 2023 Stadium video put out, Rovers say start of new stadium journey. All but confirmation, it seems. Rumours of Kuwaiti takeover as part of fruit market deal swirl.
August 2023 AlSaeeds purchase controlling 55% share. Wael very positive about this in his public statements.
Oct 2023 JCH deadline day saga. Joey Barton is sacked. Two days later, Fruit market deal is off. A busy month on the forum.
Jan 2024 First rumours swirl of AlSaeed incompetence. Conteh deal.
Nov 2024 Big rumours of Dutch consortium, spread seemingly by Wael to fans. Rumours of unpaid debts, dodgy transfer deals, interviewing managers behind MT's back etc.
My main point of this is all the negative and concerning rumours that we're hearing at the moment echo what was happening when Hani Al-Qadi was so-say the main decision maker of the club. The same, similar rumours are spreading now that Hussain and Abdulatif AlSaeed are the decision makers - and both times rumours seemed to come from Wael's camp. Whilst Wael was majority shareholder, all seemed rosy and these rumours were nonexistent - but I doubt we were angels behind the scenes during that time.
I'm not saying what's being told is untrue or disingenuous, just to take it with a pinch of salt, there's two sides to every coin after all - it's just that one isn't airing private business to fans.
That said, it was interesting to see Hussain and the other AlSaeeds in the thatchers bar talking to fans for a good hour before the Crawley game - something I'm not sure they've done before.

I wonder what was said to fans before the game, probably not a lot as they seem to keep things to themselves.

It's only when you see things listed like that you can clearly see a pattern emerge. What a silly sausage.

Hadn't heard about the owners spending an hour in the bar on Saturday (may have been in the MDT i didnt look at after the game!) Anyone part of those chats? Maybe not as aloof as people keep suggesting. They really could do with some press and official supporter time pre-Xmas, if they have no intention of selling to anyone, Dutch or otherwise.

Seemed friendly with fans and shook plenty of hands.
