Under Barton we used to dominate possession - look at how that usually turned out Promotion in his first full season?

Think an unchanged team should start. Only question for me is Hunt if fit for Moore. That would be some attacking intent at home, Mola down the left, Hunt down the right with Shaq, Hutch and McCormick behind Martin.
Need some attackers back on the bench soon, with no Ruel, Promise or Gatlin available.

Crawley boss in his pre-match interview is another who references the atmosphere at The Mem as a major factor.
He believes his squad are gelling now.
They have no new injury concerns.
A few players being nursed through games.

What's happened to Hunt again, as what does "unavailable" rather than injured mean?

Crawley are certainly the possession kings of the relegation battlers as they have had more of the ball in 13 out of 15 league games played to date.Only Birmingham City have had a bigger lions share of possession than them in League 1 this season.I wonder if the new manager has sacrificed some of the tikataka shyte as the 2 games they had a lower possession rate they took 4 points from ( beat Lincoln and drew with Huddersfield ).Conclusion - let them have the ball.

Is tomorrow the day that Crawley Town win at The Mem?
Our previous meetings at the Home of Bristol football have resulted in two draws and four victories.
14 Jan 2012 Bristol Rovers v Crawley Town D 0-0 League Two
07 Dec 2013 Bristol Rovers v Crawley Town D 0-0 FA Cup
02 Apr 2016 Bristol Rovers v Crawley Town W 3-0 League Two
15 Nov 2016 Bristol Rovers v Crawley Town W 4-2 FA Cup
14 Aug 2018 Bristol Rovers v Crawley Town W 2-1 League Cup
04 Sep 2021 Bristol Rovers v Crawley Town W 1-0 League Two
Does a 2-1 victory seem possible?

Yeah they’re in the bottom four for a reason. Possession doesn’t win games scoring more goals than the opposition does. On Saturday there were seven winning teams in league 1. 5 of those teams had less possession than the team they beat. This goes back to what I was saying a couple of weeks ago. There’s a massive trend in league 1 of the team with less possession winning way more often than not. One team I can’t remember who now won 5-0 and had possession in the 30s % Crawley having a high percentage of possession average doesn’t scare me and seeing them being in the bottom four doesn’t surprise me either. Quite simplistic. Possession of the football enables the team to do the things to score the goals. Most possession doesn't guarantee anything so you're right. However, what you do with that possession is what generates goal scoring chances. It is a territory game and most goals are scored from the ball being in the opponents box. By having more possession, it allows opportunity to move the ball more often to goal scoring areas. Being effective in possession isn't simple, because teams are coached to defend sustained attacks. They're also drilled in counter attack, since you can be most vulnerable when in attack due to commitment of extra players etc. If you take it to the extreme, a team with 100% possession will usually win a game, not always but usually. Effectiveness is the key and that breaks up into other stats and action areas, which it appears you and others are ignoring? Time of goal also hugely affects possession stats. For example, a side might race into a 2 goal lead inside 15 minutes then sit in half press for the remaining 75 minutes which gives your losing team 70% of the stat.. That reminds me of this:

I love this place Looking forward to this game, bread and butter, not potential Dutch owners or overblown gossip! With Martin looking close to a full return, Shaq and Hutch improving with every game and Taylor/Wilson at the back looking solid - even against set pieces - this could be a perfect opportunity for us to click. We need to create more, and once we do, we'll be a comfortable mid table table side. 3-0 gas A little bit worried about this one.A match against a team in the bottom 4 at the Mem is one most will expect us to win. However, this won't be easy. Crawley are improving, and have only lost 1 of their last 4 games. They only lost 1-0 at Wycombe a month ago. Matching the league leaders for much of that game. They recently beat Lincoln 3-0, and on Saturday draw 2-2 with Huddersfield. They've also scored 14 goals in their last 8 games in all competitions. Averaging nearly 2 a game. Crawley are a possession based side and are likely to have a lot of the ball. They've averaged 61% possession over their 20 games in all competitions. That includes 73% against Wigan, 69% against Barnsley, 63% against Stockport, 58% against Wrexham, 68% against Bolton, 62% against Mansfield, and 63% against Brighton in the second round of the League Cup. Hopefully our fans and players stay patient, because as we know, good possession stats don't always win you football matches. It’s not this place, it’s just football.
