Nice thread and polls on twitter I thought I'd share. Have we improved or weakened the squad this summer - have your say..

The results in that survey are very different to how the squad is portrayed in this forum! I'm in the "improved but still a way to go" camp personally.

Very difficult to make a judgement but on balance I would say ' not a lot different'. One area which is of disappointment is our loan system. Currently we got 9 out on loan and 5 in. Personally I don't think the incoming players have added much to our squad with the exception of Griffiths .
The other 4 players on loan seem to be fringe players which begs the question are they any better than Shaw or Anthony ?.
Let's not forget Taylor have gone wild on signings since January and have spent an estimated £1.5 million on fees besides championship wages on Garrett & Lindsay .

It is difficult to compare the two squads, as these are totally different types of players. These new players are first and foremost, fitter, physically stronger and more competitive. The proof will be in the pudding with how high we finish?. Still early days but overall I believe we have a stronger squad, especially in attack.

Forbes and O'donker, maybe Sousa are good squad additions. Not sure the point of Garrett. The flip side to this is we arent reliant on loans. Next season should see Ward as our number 1 with hopefully a decent back up meaning we then only need to replace squad loans

I think Sousa should have more game time. One of the few players who seems to be able to take on players and beat them

Will be interesting to see if Gareth Ainsworth can turn it around for the Shrews.

Source: prematch presser today from MT. Why did MT try and give the impression in his interview it was a big blow he's out injured when he's even struggled to make the bench in recent game? If we ever lost Hall to injury MT would try and make out it's a big blow him being out injured!!

We have been playing 4 at the back, Moore is suspended, Senior injured, who knows whats happening with Hunt (injured?). Who's going to play right back? Expect 3 centre halves and LT to come in from the cold and play rwb, with Bilongo at LWB.

A slight aside but good to see Josh Grant finally has a contract, signing for Wealdstone today. Good luck Josh, hope you get your career back on track and you stay fit.

I though they had managed to keep the players wages to last season's level or reduced it a bit. So Baron's squad must have been on good money. In terms so transfers seem to have spent what they received or perhaps a little more. Remember the owners saying they keep the transfer budget separate.

Nobody has ever said that, all we know is MT said the budget was very competitive for L1, I can never recall any previous manager being given all the transfer proceeds when we've received a big transfer fee(s) for a player(s), BG sold JCH for £750K and spent less than £250K, as did DC with Harrison's fee. Wael seems to be throwing the owners under the bus but he never financilly supported his managers like as they've done with MT.
