Hopefully another improved performance. We need to be beating teams like Crawley to be fair but I’ve got a bad feeling we’re gonna lose this one. 0-2 ( hopefully I’m wrong). COYB’s UTG

No chance of dominating possession I'm afraid. Crawley are a possession based side. They've averaged over 61% possession over their 21 games in all competitions. That includes 73% against Wigan, 69% against Barnsley, 63% against Stockport, 59% against Wrexham, 68% against Bolton, 62% against Mansfield, and 63% against Brighton in the second round of the League Cup. We rarely dominate possession, so based on Crawley's impressive figures, I would't be at all surprised if we only have 30% today. I think I read only Birmingham have better possession stats that Crawley. However, despite dominating games Crawley are in the bottom 4, so there are weaknesses we can expolit. I just hope our fans are pateint because we're not going to have much of the ball. 2-2, or 3-2 either way. I'm expecting goals. It's bound to be a dire 0-0 now. Ok I'll rephrase. Dominate possession in key areas. I'm assuming that Crawley have high stats based on keeping the ball in non threatening areas. If we can keep the ball better in their half, it will be a wise move otherwise we'll just be hitting hopeful balls into their 10 players who will then just starve us of the ball. That'll make for a frustrating match for our fans. We need wide players with paint on their boots to stretch them out. I think Crawley have the highest possession stats for possession in the oppositions half. They aren’t a “knock it around in their own half for no reason”type side. However they are susceptible to counter attacks and I’m not sore they deal with balls into their box particularly well.

Our counterattacking isn't explosive and our long-term passing from the back is very inconsistent. Hopefully we concentrate on looking after the ball because I don't think our fans will tolerate a bottom 4 side pinging it about our half for long periods.

Plenty of time to ponder this one during the in between days, could be just like heaven if we win but also remembering boys dont cry if we suffer another disintegration. A matchup like this could be the cure for our troubled form but I don’t want to wish for impossible things 😀

With other matches postponed a win will put us 13th in the table Whereas a defeat leaves us perilously close to the bottom 4!! Big performance needed today lads, both on and off the pitch!! Get behind ‘em!! UTG

Hall on the bench, Griffiths fitness concern? Think it's more of a case of us having loads of players out.

To be fair it hit the underside of the bar. An inch lower and it's in.
