Problem is something needed to be done after half time, if it wasn't trying Ward & Sinclair what else could MT do, as both LT & PO are either not fully fit or simply not interested. With Shaw and Antony out on loan, O'Donker injured and RS on international duty MT didn't have that many options yesterday. Let the game settle following half time? The players were barely getting second wind. If Crawley had come out all guns blazing and picking holes in our defense then something has to change, but as it was sometimes when you don’t know what to do the best thing is to do nothing. Trust what you’ve selected and why you’ve selected them. The front 3 attacking mid players were all causing lots of problems and there’s nothing in any of the subs that suggested they’d be any improvement other than had it been a change of formation or had Crawley changed something that was leaving us exposed. By the time he took off Hutchinson and Conteh that wasnt happening at all. I don’t believe for a second it was anything to do with tiredness it was simply MT feeling like he had to be seen to be doing something. He didnt have the courage of his convictions. Personally I dod t feel Shaq was causing them as many problems as Hutchinson and McCormick were tbh but as a front 3 they occupy defenders and defending midfield players by their movement especially the two wide men when they roll inside. Once that was disrupted Crawleys wing backs got an opportunity to be more offensive. I don't disagree with you but if MT is stood their thinking he might get sacked if we didn't win yesterday then perhaps that clouds his judgement? Although I must admit it's baffling what he sees in Sinclair to bring him on so early in the second half.

There’s no doubt in my mind that the uncertainty / insecurity / fear (call it what we like) around him and his job is without doubt affecting his judgement / decision making. Which is a shame, as anyone trying to perform at their best, will find that difficult to do under that sort of cloud.

I was stood directly behind Matt Taylor yesterday and could hear most of the calls.
We had a very high pressing game yesterday, actively encouraged by MT and well executed.
Second half was down to one important factor - lack of fitness and Crawley playing better. Nothing to do with tactics. Subs did not have an impact.
Crowd atmosphere was poor and you need them to lift you and energise you.
No point in sacking MT. We are a mediocre side who are making small improvements.
We really need to cut MT some slack. The East Terrace were exemplary in their behaviour towards him. He was professional in all his interactions with players, who are playing for him.
The football and team is mediocre. We really need to improve the atmosphere, as this is more depressing than the football. Crawley outsung us, even when we were playing well.

I guess the question must be why are professional footballers unfit when they've just had a full week's rest? Surely getting players fit is part & parcel of the manager's job. If they are really unfit, rather than just lacking motivation, how did 10 men play so well at Reading.
As igotgas suggested Hutch and McCormack didn't look tired when sub off, and their replacements made no difference anyway.
If fans made that much difference to the home side then wouldn't the table reflect that, and Wycombe would be nowhere near the top of the table?

That's when the substitutes happened. Martin on 65. Conteh & Hutchinson on 57 Thomas on 76. Not sure we were fine in the minutes leading up to the 57th min subs. We definitely were poor before the subs. In fact I’d say we were poor from around the 40th minute. We seemed to run out of steam. Thing is playing a high pressing game with Martin as your centre forward is basically like playing a high press with 10 men it was never going to last.

The other subs seemed unnecessary, a bit early and possibly premeditated.
