Distraction to the fans if he's even in the ground, let alone on the pitch. I want players and fans concentrating on three points. The *only* way I can see JJOT help us achieve that is if he starts on the bench and then comes on whilst we're 1-0 up with approx 20 minutes to go...otherwise if he plays from the start he'll distract the fans which in turn doesn't support our players. I see what you mean, but he'll definitely boost the atmosphere and get our fans going. The noisier the better, IMO.

At least if we're giving JJOT some stick, it will make some noise. All our players will hear is noise which will spur them on - they won't necessarily realise what we're signing due to focusing/being in the zone

At least if we are busy abusing a player who scored 15 goals from midfield in a water poor team our current bunch of clueless wasters will know what it feels like when they don't perform too.
Although, on the bright side, while we are abusing JJOT we are not groaning at Matty Taylor or laughing at young Blissett so spare a thought for our current targets.

He is much more likely to have a better game if we gets abused, unfortunately.
Ignoring him completely, as unlikely as it is, would probably annoy him more.

I think he's 10x more likely to get sent off if we abuse him!

I quite liked his honesty. He pulled no punches about wanting to play at a higher level and he scored enough goals to keep the spirit just about alive so the agony of being relegated was just about as awful as it could ever have been. Come to think of it, I hate him.

If he plays and gets abused, are our more agricultural supporters going to be able to handle it if he celebrates in front of the terrace after scoring?
What did he do wrong anyway other than score goals and get MOTM quite often?

But I'll take your comments at face value and say (apart from a dismal interview and poor form at the end of the relegation season - along with the rest of the team) - he was our top player for two-thirds of his time here and a hero for many at that time. A big shame it didn't work out right.

A big shame it didn't work out right. Yeah his attitude was a bit crap but he was our top scorer. He was never always a bit in and out as a player and there were allegations about other stuff but he was far from the worse player we have had.
