Mods: not really a complaint, but is it necessary to transform the word "m0ney" into something else, or not allow us to say Bristol C1ty? I understand the idea of censoring some swear words, and "Pieces of eight" or "City82 Ltd" are amusing in their way, but maybe we should be allowed to make our own jokes? Or is it just a virus on my tablet? It will be sorted later. Fixed

When the Pantsman dies ? what will happen then ? All these 'bits' of Bristol Sport do not make any money, when he dies do they ? Bit dark mate.

To not be part of BRISTOL SPORT. We are BRISTOL ROVERS FOOTBALL CLUB and forever more will be so. How sad to see our great rivals dead and part of the Bristol Sport Franchise. OK they are doing great this season but are City82Ltd only in name not even the 82ers anymore but just a bit part of the BRISTOL SPORT FRANCHISE. Slowly (or quickly as it seems now when you see them on TV) they are losing their identity in their quest to regain former glories. Ok we are a non league team but whatever the future holds for us I pray that we retain our identity. We are Bristol Rovers 1883 and can stand proud. If we wave a scarf it is the scarf of our club, our tradition..ok we probably haven't been given it free but it retains our history..the good times ,the bad times and the in betweens . Lets be proud of this. WE now have something in common with Wimbledon and that is that our deadly rivals are a franchise. The good times will come back for us in the future-football is like that but when it does will the derby be Bristol Rovers v City82Ltd...very unlikely more like Bristol Rovers v Bristol Sport Football section. Do you really think they give a rats ass about us.
They must be crying into their drinks seeing how far apart we are.
PS - from a Gashead of 60+ years and a shareholder.
How long is the Rovers thread on OTIB now?

Whether you want to believe it or not, I think City will be a Premier League side within 5 years. They are slowly building the infrastructure and look to have found themselves a capable manager and team. All this makes the building of UWE all the more important. Attracting fans to conference/league 2 football at a dilapidated old ground will be difficult with Championship/Premier League football just down the road. Or maybe easier to offer a cheaper, more inclusive, family friendly option. If Rovers ever got to the Prem how many of us would be priced out of going? 100% why I chose Rovers. That and I can't stand sitting at football. Understand the older Gashead being sick of the whole scrappy underdog thing but I love our batshit insane stadium. Do wish it was a bit newer but you can't beat the atmosphere of a great big terrace and the mingling.

...We're still kicking around the 1980's - rag ass Rovers style! City have the dosh, we don't - and we all know how modern day football operates! We won't play them in a league game in the next ten years. they have a billionaire owner(or close). not a millionaire. not even a multi-millionaire, but a BILLIONAIRE (or close). I would suggest that they are doing shockingly bad considering, can't even manage to build a new stadium (Shrewsbury managed it, and Rotherham, and Dorchester, and Dartford, and Chesterfield... shall I stop now?) and have even managed to reduce their capacity at the one time they are actually capable of getting higher crowds. If 'rag-ass Rovers' did that we would have had the brine well and truly ripped out of us. Was thinking exactly this the other day. They have spent 10s of millions and have achieved absolutely f**k all. They are basically where they were before it all started.

That's the one blemish on the UWE dream for me: I'll always stand if it's available, even when I get to Zimmer frame age. I'd miss the nutjobs. I move away from them, but it's nice to know they're there.

Still the City for me, still play at Ashton Gate and still our rivals. All you are seeing is some progressive (& slightly aggressive) modern day football marketing. Something that our board of directors don't know anything about! We're still kicking around the 1980's - rag ass Rovers style! City have the dosh, we don't - and we all know how modern day football operates! We won't play them in a league game in the next ten years. Based on what exactly?

As much as I dislike the thought, I believe they will be a top division outfit in the next 5 years... When you look at the likes of Bournemouth and Brentford in the playoffs there really is nothing to fear for them in the championship.
As for us... There's light at the end of what's been a very dark tunnel... And that's what I'd rather focus on

The harsh reality of modern day football - money. I suppose a lot depends on what happens in May.
