I would like to think that our board would have plans to take off the shelf should promotion/relegation happen in any given season. Part of a board's job is to make business forecasts based on the situation at the time and I'd like to think the board constantly have the bigger picture in mind (stop laughing at the back!). At the moment I would imagine they have a number of points we need after certain number of games before they make serious plans for playing in a higher division.
This board has overseen a promotion and relegations in the last 8 years so I'd hope they've learned some things they would and wouldn't do again if either were to happen (I said stop laughing!)

Sounds to me like he's making the assumption that we haven't and are not going to plan this time actually, where as I'm just simply saying.. How are we to know what they're planning whatever happens?? We just have to support or not support Well we didn't plan for relegation last year so what makes you think they will have planned this year? I think its a bit childish of the poster to say that school kids and mechanics on here have all the answers. I also think its too simplistic to say "trust the board, its not our job to worry about it". Our job as fans is to support the team and to ensure we ask the right questions of the custodians of our club. We would be failing as fans not to ask now if last years mistakes are being repeated. We don't have to have the answers to ask questions. We are not board members of a football club. You don't go to a mechanic knowing how to fix your car do you? The board should have a 3yr and 5yr plan but they should also have several "what if..." Plans that cover the most likely events as a season progresses. Or should an Engineer like me just sit back like a good little boy and trust in people that , no matter how much I want them to succeed, have always let me down? I really feel that you're missing my point, my point is simply that I'm not assuming anything, we might have plans, we might not have plans, fair enough ask the board if they have a plan! But this thread isn't about asking them if they have a plan is it, it's basically saying the board don't have a plan and they should, and the fans should be giving them one

You cannot run before you can walk. Let's worry about actually getting promoted and not what may or may not happen next year . Anyways im pretty sure dc has a list of players he would like to sign if we did go up.

Honestly think this year's squad would come at least 10th in last year's league two with no adjustments. With a couple off additions brought with the prize money (hypothetical promotion situation) we could easily push for top 6.

This thread is mental - way too premature and usually stuff like this bites us in the backside.
All I will say, look how many teams have come straight back down after going up. I don't think any have in the last 10 or so years at least. IF, big if, we went up, minimal changes would be needed. Few quality additions if you ask me and that's about it.

True, I would imagine DC will have a far easier job adding half dozen or so additions to this season's squad than the complete rebuild he had to undertake last summer?
If fact with Mildenhall & McChrystal etc contracts up this summer and the loss of the £500K parachute budget he, or whoever is in charge, may have a far bigger task if we don't go up?

Time to delete let this thread die. We very nearly came unstuck today.
