I don't want to start a negative thread given the positivity around the place following the meeting on the 10th.
However, is anyone else a little concerned we haven't had any other new arrivals this week??
Last week we were told Jamie White was the first and to expect another one this week. Granted there's still time but I must admit that I expected at least one more by now.
We probably need another 9/10 players minimum and that's without any other players leaving. As such, you'd have expected the flood gates (ok maybe not flood gates but at least a little wooden one) to have opened by now? Or at least have been wedged open slightly?!
I must admit that it looks increasingly like there is some upheavel going on in the boardroom and that that's delaying us sanctioning moves for players. Hardly ideal and, at the moment, it certainly doesn't look like we'll be "hitting the ground running".
When does pre-season start? Only I know DC said he wanted his squad in place by then.

I was hoping for at least one more this week but I haven't even heard any potential rumours of incomings. Hopefully there will be one today and if the signing goes belly up, we can blame it on the fact he was signed on Friday 13th!

It does seem that something serious is going on a board level at the club. I hope that whatever the outcome leaves the right people in charge of the club. In all honesty, I would even consider writing off this season if it means getting the right people on (the) board.
I hope whatever's going on, it gets sorted quickly.

Yeah. I've been reading on twitter, forums, fb, the lot. I'm fairly convinced now that there is more going on behind the scenes. If I'm right and I may be wrong we will hear today or Monday.
Signings will have to happen fairly quickly afterwards else we will be up the poop shoot creek without the defibrillator paddles.

June 30th... .and it's so quiet it's deafening... Blimey - not long then!! It we don't sign one today, given that we never announce new signings on a weekend, come Monday that will leave us with 2 weeks to have the squad in place (which according to DC was what he wanted [and realistically is what's required really in order to get them fit and to gel as much as possible before the season starts]). 10 signings minimum in 2 weeks.............. it could well be a couple of exciting weeks ahead!!!!!! Or not. |

I'm starting to believe there may be something going on behind the scenes too, but I personally don't think it would really interrupt Clarke making any signings. Or at least it SHOULDN'T. I agree it's been a surprising wait for signings but what you must remember is that we are all fans who are impatient and love to log in and see new players holding up the shirt... the wait is destroying me but i'm sure if we are patient the signings will flood in over the coming weeks.  |

Really can`t see us being reinstated, in fact I fear we will look rather silly at the end of it, so can only hope there are a plethora of signings to be imminently announced..... |

Even if not, you may be correct in that, whilst there remains a possibility (however small) that we may be re-instated, the BoD may be choosing to hold off spending too much of the budget before we offically know what division we are in. I.e. if we were to be re-instated we could attract a better calibre of players therefore pretty much guaranteeing that the budget would be spent differently than if we were in the Conference. |

Another possiblity is that perhaps the plug is about to be pulled on the UWE and that doing so would effect our budget; therefore limiting what we can spend until we know the outcome of that.

Our new Conference opponents must be bricking themselves. The only thing this club is good at is inept behaviour and complete arrogance and indifference to the reality of our situation. Where is there any desire or purpose.

Due to our inadequate communication to our supporters (who continually turn up and bank roll continual failures), the board feel thats it's nothing to do with us what's going on behind the scenes.
I hope i'm wrong, it just seems to me it's done on a need to know basis - and they obviously feel supporters don't need to know!

As I just posted on another forum, as a manager DC has had two pre-seasons to prepare his team (salisbury) both of which were successful (10th and then 2nd - promoted via playoffs)...if this pre-season goes badly (and it's too early to judge yet) it's not because DC hasn't done it successfully before...
