My first visit of the season, having been there for the Mansfield game, I vowed not to go again. The last time I watched non league football was Trowbridge Town back in the 70's!
But, I found myself helpless. That drug, that you just can't get out of your system was calling - something made me go (this would have been the first season since 1969 that I would not have gone - so my vow was always going to be difficult to carry out!)
My brother said don't go - if you do we will loose, how right he was.
My thoughts - oh my god we were terrible, worse than against Mansfield (where we actually created some chances). No midfield and no one up front who could hold it up. I was surprised that Dawson was not switched to the other wing as they had clearly done their homework on him. Thought Balatana had good touch and vision, Taylor worked hard but neither Harrison or Blissett were good enough to give him the support he needed and McChrystal looked very steady.
Not sure how Easlieigh compare to other teams you have seen this year? but I felt they were very mobile, had a good plan, executed it very well and would probably hold their own in the division above. Constable was a real handful and had the ref in the palm of his hand (how would Taylor have got on if he was playing with Constable up front?)
Lets hope Clark does bring some one (or two) in next week. Can't see us winning the league or playoff's if he does not.

Your assessment is pretty accurate but you would need to see a few more games to get a fairer picture…..oh on second thoughts, best you stay at home!

I've not seen loads of games this season, maybe 10-12 but seen Eastleigh home and away. They were much better today than in the reverse fixture, and the best team i've seen us play this season. It's so easy to criticise your own team when they lose but I think credit should be given to Eastleigh today. They were excellent, really up for it, won every second ball and wanted it more. They were organised all through the team and their midfield pairing of Pell and Stanley totally dominated our lacklustre midfield pairing. They're a good pair for this division despite what our fans may have thought about them. I agree about Balanta, he was the only player who didn't seem scared to have the ball at his feet. I'd start him next game. Anyway, it may have been a worse performance today than at Mansfield, but I hope even you can see there is fight in this team and the togetherness of the squad compared to last season. You definitely picked a bad day to go!

Agreed, on the day Eastleigh were just far the better team, on that showing I'm tempted to put a few quid on them going up. Plenty of good physical players, with the intelligence to keep the ref on side, whilst winding up the opposition at the same time.

We've been very consistent but not spectacular in what is generally a poor but competitive league.Eastleigh are on good form and played well today. I don't think it was embarrasing to lose to them but some of our passes, shots and Mildy's mistake were embarrassing! Hopefully DC will be honest with the players and give them a kick up the backside. We're better than that, other results went our way and I think we can continue to be consistent enough to win the league. Going straight back up would be a great achievement but a few quality additions would be necessary to compete in league 2
