He did say it was an awful performance all over the pitch by us. He didn't hide. Average attendance current season BRFC: 6173 Eastleigh: 1659 And they have a "good team"? I was thinking the same after that abject 1st half performance against Braintree The thing is how many times have we witnessed "abject" performances for at least a half? Against clubs who are miles behind us in terms of support and the finance that raises? I still think we will squeeze over the finishing line in first place, but frankly thats about how bad other teams are rather than the excellence of our own play. Is it tactics or the players? And how does that bode for next season if we go up? Does anybody think we will survive playing like this? We just do not have a midfield. I agree with you I think we'll go up but Im worried it might be the hard way. If we do go up we don't have a competitive squad for that league and will have a very hard time.

Are they? On the other forum? Just gloomy mood, I guess. You'd have to be pretty pessimistic to write us off when we're top with 8 games to go. Even if we're in the playoffs, it's not "end of season". We'll all be back onside next week. Can you tell that to Taylor please? Do you know, it crossed my mind when I wrote those words that someone might say that, but I thought, "No-one could be so unkind to Matty" lol. I'm amazed it took 12 hours, thinking about it!

But if we go up a lot of this squad will be gone and DC will bring in players he thinks can be successful in league 2 so I shouldn't worry about that too much now.

Do you really believe that starting a new season with a whole new squad is the best way to aim for a successful season? Do you recall what happened at the start of this season? Or the chaos of the last few years as a league club. Some on here, this forum, complain of the negativity, its perceived rather than real, of those of us who believe that the club is being run in a chaotic fashion, and say so. Surely, building a squad fit for 9 months at a time is chaos? Forget back of house just for moment, but just this? How come we are running our first team squad in the same way as clubs with a third, at best, of our support and subsequent financial capacity?

But he is going to have to make at least 4-5 changes if we are going to make a decent attempt at League 2 promotion. Getting the right players you want in,is going to be a lot more easier when we have our league status back.

Ok, Probably we have a stand out central defender in Parks L2 back in Brown L2 goalie in Mildenhall / Puddy Mansell and Monkhouse past their sale by dates. What else? That looks like a major rebuild to me You? And thats just for midtable mediocrity, if you think another promotion is on the cards, I think you are in cloud cuckoo land.

Sinclair could easily play Lg2 Standard so could Easter,Balanta and Lockyer. We need two good wingers, another central midfield player and a right back.Hardly a major rebuild oldboy.

I don't see how you can decide to build a team good enough for a higher division. Why would they play at a lower level with no guarantee of promotion? We rebuilt this team for this season and we are top. Every club has to bring in new players when they go up, if they can afford it.

I'm totally with you, our squad isn't good enough for L2, particularly MF and up front but I do think you are being a little unfair. We needed a rebuild last summer to off load big earners and get the rot out of the squad on half the budget JW had. We may lack some quality but when DC gets us up I trust him to be able to improve the squad then. For someone so critical of the board, how would you feel if they'd just gone out and paid for a league quality squad and we failed to go up, what sort of comments would you be posting then?
