What was it DC said not long ago, something like...
"When Bristol Rovers lose a game, all of a sudden it's a disaster"
I found myself thinking that since Saturday as well, but it's really not unless that feeling lingers. 20 games unbeaten, 5 wins on the bounce, that does it to you. But it's really not. We are still top of the league. Barnet haven't got the form for a title run in. Our performances aren't upto scratch? Grimsby fans have wanted Paul Hurst out all season, citing boring 1-0 wins. We have beaten those teams, no one is special in this league.
I listened to Martin Allens interview 10 or so days ago. My first impressions were that he's lost the plot a little bit, the exact opposite of where I see DC. I know we have a few bad days at the office, but we still grind out the results, and how often do teams win 6 on the bounce or go 21 games unbeaten? How often does your keeper let the ball slip between his legs over the line?
Halifax is a massive game for me. Important we don't lose. We don't want the rot setting in. Our last 5 fixtures couldn't get much better on paper. Grimsby, Macc and Barnet also have hard games on Saturday.
It's only natural to start assuming the league title with our form of late, and to feel very down after a defeat. Grimsby will get that feeling again soon. Their fans, and Barnets, are talking about going undefeated for the rest of the season. That just won't happen.
I don't actually feel we need an attacking centre midfield that much, as I'm not sure we would use him. We played aimless long balls on Saturday. Our strength is on the wins, two passes and you get the ball out to Balanta and Dawson (no more bench for Dawson, please), that's all we need. Get your best players in the game. Of course, I wouldn't say no to an attacking midfielder, but are there many about? Worth noting that Dawson has played a fair few games in AMC for Leicesters development squad...
Onwards and upwards? We're already top. Trust in DC
