Where was Lines playing for Vale? Were they on 4-4-2?

I don't think Blissett did anything in the second half to make me wanna see him play ahead of Harrison, and I agree with the Balanta shout as well ^ I'd start him ahead of Monky

Bring Harrison/Easter/Balanta etc on to finished the game off when there will be more space and pace will come into play.

I accept that he may not have played that well but he did make a difference

Tbh I agree with you thinking about it, if memory serves me right they were a big physical team, Blissett will be worth his weight in gold defending set pieces if nothing else

I'd play
------------------------Mildenhall----------------- Leadbitter----McChyrstal----Parkes-----Brown --------------------Mansell---Lockyer----------- --------Dawson----------Lines--------Balanta--- -------------------------Taylor--------------------
I feel we need the numbers to scrap in midfield. Lockyer doesn't add much creativity, but I doubt we'll see much in the game given the state of the pitch. Keep Harrison back to stretch the tired legs in the second half. Just worried that Balanta and Dawson might not offer enough protection.
This is the current state of the pitch: 3:07 shows it at its worst.

Oh god, and we just signed a player who says he likes to play it on the ground! Luckily he played at the mem when we still hosted the rugby!

This is the current state of the pitch: 3:07 shows it at its worst. I just came here to post exactly this. The bloke we see briefly at about 1:00 had a broken leg, ftr. According to some bloke on the Halifax forum, the ruggers don't contribute to the upkeep of the pitch, coz they can play on anything.

Because of the state of the pitch, I'd go:
________________Mildenhall________________ Leadbitter___McChrystal__Parkes__Brown ___________________Lockyer ____________Mansell_______Lines ___________________Balanta ______________Taylor______Blissett

Even if Easter was fit we could not risk him on that pitch after what happened at Dartford. I'd play Monkhouse and Blissett because the ball is going to be in the air for most of the game.

I would definitely bring Trotman back into the squad as Mchrystal made some very dodgy headers against Eastleigh and last time we played Halifax they bombed the box with crosses and long throws

Agree, it won't be a great game, especially on that "pitch". I would change it for the next home game though and put Balanta and Easter in but for away games we should stick to the side that won the last few on the road. We are very good at the moment playing as the away team grinding out results, Gateshead and Grimsby were very professional away wins.

Blissett, "second touch is a header" not good enough, Monkhouse has been all over place in the last few games; I would bench these two, and play Ellis and Easter (if fit).

www.halifaxcourier.co.uk/sport/fc-halifax-town/fc-halifax-town-news/aspin-pitch-hampered-us-during-dartford-draw-1-7144816FC Halifax Town boss Neil Aspin insisted the Shay pitch played its part in his side’s frustrating 0-0 draw with 10-man Dartford. Town failed to score for the third consecutive game and came up against a stubborn Dartford side as well as an awful pitch. “It’s obviously a better point for Dartford than it is for us,” said Aspin. “I’m the manager and I’ll accept criticism if the team’s not playing well but to try and play at any tempo on that surface, you just can’t do it. “It’s virtually impossible so when you get a sending-off and two banks of four it becomes very difficult. “I’m not going to criticise the players too much because I’ve walked on the pitch at the end of the game and you’re asking players to try and pass and be creative on that and it’s very, very difficult.”
