I'm not surprised it didn't work out I thought he sounded like a broken man when he left Palace and thought he needed some time away from it all really.

Personally I'd sack anyone at any given moment to have him back, and get Penrice back with him as well

No. He has looked tired and fed up for a while now. Needs a break IMO. Certainly wouldn't want to disturb the current set up at this time (For anybody)

EXACTLY what i texted to my brother before I read this. When he resigned at Palace he looked like he needed a serious rest from it all. Not just a few weeks, or even month. It seemed a shame when he took on a really hard job not that long after. I think he's almost as unemployable as Buckle at the moment (for different reasons...)

I see Harris has taken over. Wasn't he in charge along with someone else before they appointed Mark McGee? Round about 2000 I think.

John Ward is 63 and still stuck in the good old days of percentage football (but without the quality players)
Mark McGhee is 57, has a young kid, and really doesn't have the current knowledge of the game he once had.
Ian Hollyway is 51 and needs a LONG rest. He also needs to look at other styles of management and tactics.
Darrell Clarke is 37 and is fresh and open to change and (minor) experimentation.
I can see a pattern emerging.

If you asked me at the start of the season i would of had holloway over clarke anyday.
Being a player i grew up watching and admiring and also he gave us some good memoreys when he was manager here BUT to be honest DC has got us on the right track, hes motivated and ambitious and he really wants to succeed.
So at this moment in time NO.
But id like to see him back here one day in which role though im not sure.

I wouldn't have him back at this time and I doubt he would even consider us anyway. Holloway is a gas legend imo but he's moved on now and so have we. Millwall never worked out for him after he kept them up last year that doesn't necessarily make him a bad manager. He also had a terrible time at Leicester some time ago but he bounced back and I expect him to do the same again if he gets the right job.
