Truegas, you are a strange bloke. It seems to me that you are a passionate fan and a fundamentally honest person. Then again, you think it is ok to run on to the pitch and attack (or at least threaten) a player. You sound hurt that people don't support you in this crazy act and you seem to have an extraordinarily naive view of things. They would take points as a punishment, not because you affected the game. We are not like a shop; football clubs are held responsible for the behaviour of their fans, even to an unreasonable extent. Perhaps you are too young to remember the Heysel disaster and the subsequent banning of ALL English clubs from Europe for years. To be frank, you come across as a simpleton, but you express yourself too well for that. I don't know what to make of you. Perhaps you are beginning to realise the damage you could do to your own club. I hope so. I'm not surprised that you're not sure what to make of me. Over the years I've come to realise that I simply seem to see things very differently to most others. I am indeed too young to remember that incident, although I'm sure I've read something about it before. If clubs are held responsible for the behaviour of their fans, to an ''unreasonable extent'', then I don't think that should simply be taken as ''the way it is''. If its unreasonable then it should be changed, in my opinion. In response to a disaster caused by fans, it makes no sense to ban all English clubs from playing European Football. I would've fully supported a ban of that clubs fans, from attending European games, but as its not the clubs fault, I really don't think its right that they were punished for it. Truegas you have to accept, as we all do, that there are rules in a civilised society that we need to adhere to, and we must take responsibility for our actions. We may not agree with all of those rules, but it is a very naïve and irresponsible approach to proceed in a different way to everyone else, just because we think we might see something differently. Your actions, knowing how the FA viewed incidents earlier in the season, really has put the club at risk of a penalty from the FA - be it a fine or, heaven forbid, a points deduction. You need to step back and think about your actions before you leap in in future. Your examples that you quote to "justify" your action that day are naïve in the extreme.

It would be crazy for the club to be punished, though, because everything worked perfectly. He was apprehended by four stewards and held until the police came. No harm was effected. What exactly are they going to find us guilty of? What are they asking clubs to do that wasn't done?

Never once have I boasted about it!! It's nothing to boast about! Yes, so the 'it was me!' thread was just so that the mystery of who it was, not that anyone asked, was solved? As I did say later on in that thread, I was getting lots of text telling me that it was being talked about a lot online, so I assumed it was being talked about on here! The fact that it actually wasn't being talked about on here, made my thread look like I was shouting it out as if I was proud of what I'd done, which certainly wasn't the case.

Stupid thing to do and could cost us, unlikely to be points or a fine but in reputation.
I must say though i respect TrueGas for responding and holding his hands up, it would be much easier for him to run and hide. And some of the abuse and name calling is unnecessary in my opinion. He's a Gashead who did something stupid and acknowledges it.
Attack the post, not the poster are the rules on here aren't they?

Truegas you show no remorse in your actions, you fail to accept you did anything wrong, I hope the club and possibly the courts throw the book at you and make an example of you. This is just the sort of behaviour the club can do without in light of incidents earlier in the season. I hope you enjoy your Saturday afternoons shopping with the Mrs!

Of course I accept that I did something wrong. Regardless of how I feel as a fan, it is entirely unacceptable to go onto the pitch. I only wish I'd been able to keep that at the forefront of my mind on Saturday, when my emotions got the better of me

But you planned it. You talked about "What Stanley's going to get" that morning didn't you? my actual thoughts were getting to the front of the Blackthorn when he's in the box for a corner and letting him know my feelings then... I definitely didn't imagine myself running on to the pitch!

I'm sorry but in this case isn't truegas's "post" his actions on Saturday? Which every fan of Rovers and football has the right to condemn in the strongest possible terms. If someone doesn't want personal abuse they shouldn't act in a manner that warrants it. If you want to depetsonalise it we can talk about what a selfish, idiotic cretinous person that was on Saturday but hey we all know who it was Thanks to the culprit's bragging. To say he's held his hands up is disingenuous since he started the "it was me" thread and deleted his first post he only then addressed the issue when he was getting a leathering in the comments.

I definitely didn't imagine myself running on to the pitch! You're either disingenuous or very dangerous. To be in a total fugue state whereby you are so mentally unwell that you have no responsibility for your own actions is an extremely rare state to achieve. If you got to that point I suggest an appointment with your GP to discuss it. If you did not achieve it man up, take some responsibility and stop excusing yourself in various ways.

Have you considered the beneficial effects of psychosurgical intervention at the earliest possible opportunity?

oh great. just what we need. [/sarcasmfont] Truegas - if it really was you, then you have a lot of time and writing skills to be such a twat on the pitch. Do something constructive with your skills. Don't get me wrong, I'm not perfect. I get really riled and het up at times at the stuff that happens before, during or after football matches but have I ever invaded the pitch, tried to get at a player etc? no. The true irony in all this is that STanley wasn't even an outrageously poor, negative, annoying or expensive player. He was an ok 'water carrier', and all teams need one. I don't condone name calling so i probably shouldn't have quoted/posted that. But bloody hell, didn't you think of the consequences? It could cost the club promotion. Being in this league for another year could kill this club.

How many times? I wasn't bragging. I made the mistake of thinking it was already being discussed on here, but I was later told it was actually being discussed on Facebook! What is there to brag about!? I ran on the pitch then got grabbed and removed from the pitch!
