I thought with the advent of our new media man, spelling and written English would improve. Sadly having read today's Aldershot early bird posting it seems nothing has changed.
Does nobody proof read the items before they are released?

They don't even have to read it, just paste in Word and press 'spellcheck'

I thought he was only a consultant and not a day to day guy.
Still unfathomable how a website article doesn't go into word and get spell checked though

Sorry, but i can't help feel some of our fans are bloody petty at times.
A spelling mistake - really?

If we were really nitpicking we could comment upon the absence of 'to' after 'Tursday' and the incorrect placement of the apostrophe in 'clubs''. But that would be petty!

I wouldn't call expecting perfect grammar petty and nitpicky.
It's an article which will be read by many, kids included, and should be perfect imo. It's only a handful of sentences after all.
Why do we accept sub-standard grammar these days anyway?

The spelling mistake could have been confusing. Did it mean Tuesday or Thursday. Anyway, someone who is writing on a professional website ought to get it right IMO.

'Seats are in high demand and are running in short supply'. . That's technically grammatically acceptable but it sounds dreadful.

Most kids these days use text speak, so grammar and spelling probably are not an issue. just my ten penny worth, thank feck this is the biggest issue currently

Sorry, but i can't help feel some of our fans are bloody petty at times. A spelling mistake - really? Well yes, but it's not the first or the second time - it happens far too often for the website of a professional business (both this season and last season), so they should really sort it out.
