"Mike Phenix: Macclesfield sign Barnsley striker on loan
Conference side Macclesfield have signed Barnsley striker Mike Phenix on loan until the end of the season.
The 26-year-old moved to the Tykes for a fee thought to be around £25,000 from AFC Telford, but has only made two substitute appearances so far.
Last season Phenix was out for a month with ulcerative colitis, the same condition which has affected Scotland midfielder Darren Fletcher.
He is available for Macclesfield's game against Nuneaton on Saturday."
Phenix looked good for Telford early in the season and he has not had the opportunities at Barnsley. It certainly adds to the Macc challenge.

Looked good for Telford? Fair play - you must be very switched on!
I've been to every home game this season and could count on my hands how many other conference players I know the names of!

A lot of us have been thinking that the Macc lads' squad is a bit thin (not the players, physically) and it looks like the manager is doing something about it. I still think they are a threat.
