Exactly, it's stupid to judge on position in the table, it has to be more to do with form. And 3 of those next 4 are above Barnet in the form table at the moment so don't think they'll be easy matches. I've been saying for a while now as well if we're within a couple of points of Barnet going into the last 3 we'll have a chance. Their last 3 are: Kidderminster, Halifax and Gateshead. Ours are: Southport, Dover and Alfreton. I'd fancy us to take more from those 3 than Barnet do theirs. Read my post above. Barnet have had a run of tough games recently against top half teams which is why their form is poor. The form guide is misleading given that the bottom half teams are mainly part time and far inferior to the top half Rubbish, this time of the season the bottom teams always pull off shock results against the top teams. Look at Burnley beating Man city. Anything could happen in a game, there could be a sending off, dodgy pen, every game is different.Barnet will still drop points, simple as that.

Gateshead could, like last season, still sneak into the Play offs, that last game could be a tough one if they can still make it.
Is the Dartford game the week before these games on the box as it's a 12:45 kick off, if so, that's an extra spur for Dartford to go well?

Doesn't matter, someone else has more points than us. Not sure if you're on a wind up Hugo as you're not normally this downbeat. Barnet were miles clear not long ago but now they're within touching distance. Their fans and players must be sh**ting themselves as to blow a lead that big is poor at best. We would have taken this position at the start of the season and definitely would have taken it before the away games against Grimsby and Gateshead. A hell of a long way to go yet! UTG

UTG We let them off the hook at the worse possible time. They will have been bouyed by our inability to kill them off when we had the chance. It's no longer in our hands and Barnet just need to match our results. We won't win the next 7 games.

Hugo, We are 1 point behind. You are taking as if it was 6 or 7 points behind. It doesn't matter whether is is an "easy" team they are playing as in those 7 games the pressure will make EVERY game a difficult one. The secret is to not let off that pressure NOW. As long as we match Barnets results the pressure will remain on and then it is who cracks first. I am not saying we will win it but as long as the gap stays at one or two points the pressure is on. You only have to remember our last game last season. Was Mansfield not a very easy game? ?

We've narrowed the gap from something like 12 pts to 1 pt, or 2 with GD, the only real bad result we've had during that run is Eastleigh at home, given we were never going to win every home game you could argue that was just the 1 point dropped, if we now get back to winning our home games we could well go on to be champions.
looking back to the turn of the year who wouldn't have taken us being just a point behind Barnet with 7 games to go?

We had our chance (Eastliegh) and we fecked it up. Play off for us. As someone once said to me about lower league chess. 'It is not he who blunders, but he who blunders last'

Disappointed with how negative you're being Hugo.
I'm hoping it is just because you don't want to build your hopes up?

Playing Friday could be a massive advantage to us this week. If we win we'll be piling on the pressure for Barnet to win Saturday.

I'm not complaining, I'm happy with our league position and how we pegged them back but I am also disappointed that having done so we allowed them another bite at us.
Yes, its possible but I think we will now miss out and it will have been that pish poor Eastleigh performance that cost us.

The difference between our and Barnet's results vs Eastleigh in the space of just a few days could be the difference between us being top and in the Play-offs. I said it a few days ago - I think we need to get 19 points from a possible 21 to be top. If we can get those points then I think it will be enough - Barnet will drop a few, but not enough for us to need any less than 19 I fear.

We will now see whos has and who has not got the bottle, seven games to go, the team with the most character, belief and better players should come out on top. Lets hope its BRFC. The Manager will now earn his money and make or break our season, I just hope Clarke does not let his heart rule his head. Only time wil tell. UTG

I haid I am sure "we will ALL drop points". It's there for the taking, no good looking back and blaming one game in a 46 game season.

Yes, I understand your point, but having allowed them another bite at us, they only took a little nibble. We went top by 2pts, they had a game in hand. Now, albeit by a slightly convoluted route, a couple of games later it's as if they won that game in hand. Let's win on Friday and then that will pile the pressure back on them.

What Barnet do is out of our hands, to be honest it's hard to know how Barnet are gonna get on as they have been very inconsistent of late. Halifax getting a last minute equaliser last night put an end to them going on a winning run. In fact Barnet haven't had back to back wins for a while now.

I have a funny feeling Barnet will fail to win any of their final three fixtures....
You heard it here first.
