If they carry that form into the next 7 games, it is in our hands. All to play for.

Teams on bad runs lose to anybody. They don't beat the bad teams and lose to the good ones. They lose at random to anyone they play, top or bottom. It's the law of poor form. So long as we don't start messing it up ourselves, I fully expect to see at least two defeats from those next 4 games, and us to overtake them.

Barnet rarely drop points to the teams outside of the top 6. Their highest ranked team is Gateshead at home on the final game of the season. Not any easy game but Gateshead are unlikely to have anything to play for. I can see Barnet dropping 2 or maybe 4 points at the most but the problem is that even if they drop 4 points we can only afford to drop 2 points. I think we will drop more than 2 points.

A lot of the bottom teams are in good form at the moment and are fighting to stay up. Welling had as good win away to Lincoln last week, Alfreton have won 3 and drew 1 of their last 4. Nuneaton are 5 games unbeaten and Dartford have just won 2 in a row.
By the same token, Aldershot will not bre an easy game for us as they aren't safe yet and have only lost 1 in 6.

Exactly, it's stupid to judge on position in the table, it has to be more to do with form.
And 3 of those next 4 are above Barnet in the form table at the moment so don't think they'll be easy matches.
I've been saying for a while now as well if we're within a couple of points of Barnet going into the last 3 we'll have a chance. Their last 3 are: Kidderminster, Halifax and Gateshead.
Ours are: Southport, Dover and Alfreton.
I'd fancy us to take more from those 3 than Barnet do theirs.

Last 4 games played, Alfreton are top of form league Telford 1-0 Kidderminster 2-0 Dartford 1-0 Lincoln 0-0 3 of those teams are bottom of the form table over the last 6 games during which time they have amassed 9 points from a possible 54! The truth is that Barnet beating Eastleigh the week after we lost to them swung the pendulum firnly in Barnet's favour. Having said that, with the squad we now have (especially if Sinclair returns and Easter remains fit) I fancy us to win the playoffs.

I'd prefer to take one game at a time, and concentrate on ourselves, and not what others are doing!
If we take it one game at a time, and continue to earn points, we won't have to worry about anyone, they'll all just have to worry about us.

Not knocking you in particular but we've got from: looking at our fixtures, to looking at Barnet's results to looking at Barnet's fixtures to looking at Alfreton's results Once you start digging that deep into the games, then you can convince yourself of anything. Just have confidence in DC and the team. UTG

Barnet have had a run of tough games recently against top half teams which is why their form is poor. The form guide is misleading given that the bottom half teams are mainly part time and far inferior to the top half

The biggest reason I can see Barnet slipping up this weekend is because if I recall rightly they have a poor record when playing a lot of games in a short space of times? Maybe you can back this up with stat I Voted For Kodos

What some of you lot are forgetting is that it's relegation time too as well as promotion time.
I guess not many have kept an eye on the bottom of the table (and why would they?) but those at the bottom are picking up a hell of a lot more points than they were before. In November/December time I'd have agreed that it looks like easy pickings for Barnet, but suddenly the bottom four are becoming unpredictable. Welling beat Lincoln away 2-0 last week, Barnet lost at Lincoln 4-1 - so nothing is inevitable. However, they have only played mainly each other and teams in mid-table.
The next challenge will be whether these teams can take on the big boys - comes no bigger than top of the league. Managers will be saying this too and particularly on their own patch, these teams will have the confidence to think they can beat Barnet. They'll have the extra incentive and confidence, just as Barnet will now have the pressure on again. Part time/full time argument is rubbish - part time Braintree beat full time Torquay 5-1 away from home tonight!
yatetown85 is right, it's better to focus on our own games. Do the business against our opponents and I'm not so sure these games will be that easy for Barnet.
