Taylor and Easter work very well together, probably better than any other combo of forwards we have.

Don't misunderstand my earlier post. I too think Ellis was awful last night. What I meant was, at the outset bearing in mind recent games I would have started Ellis. So would I because prior to last night I felt Taylor had lost a bit of form but I thought he was pretty good last night. Clearly you can already see that Easter is a million miles ahead of anything else we have and I hope it doesn't take him too long to get match fit and Sharp. If last night was what he can do after a long lay off he could be superb during the run in.

Easter was so impressive for me, because he doesn't just have ball-ability, he's got that rare (at this level) combination of quickness of movement with power. He dominates people. He's a bit of a beast.

"Yes, he's a great asset to the team" I voted for this option but I think a more accurate description would be a "good or very good asset to the team". Agree with this.

I thought Taylor was fantastic last night and he coukd have been given Man of the match. His link up play was superb and while that usually the case he capped off a good display with a good well taken goal too. Not our player of the season because he's missed too many sitters but would definitely be in my top 3 Taylor's execllent at getting into good scoring positions and with Easter now fit I think his poacher style may paper over the few cracks that are in Taylor's game because Taylor will drag defenders all over the place allowing Easter to nip into the spaces created, last nights first goal being a good example, with Easter being unmarked 10 yards out.

That's 13 in the league now this season and going back to a thread a few weeks ago that was about how many does a striker need to get for him to have had a good season most of us agreed that the target should be 20+ but if a striker is great at buikding up the play and isn't just a poacher who only scored goals then 15 is a good return. I think Matty will get at least another two and there's no doubting he's not just about scoring goals. Keep up the great work Matty !

How many penalties was that? If Harrison was taking them he would be on about 16-17 for the season. I'm not a Taylor slagger, but didn't feel he justified the tag of pulling defenders everywhere. He didn't create the space for Easters goal for instance. It was rank bad defending.
Taylor misses far to many chances for me, and a lot of this creativity talk I feel is a myth. Remember when he was signed we were told he likes to play off the shoulder of the last defender. Sorry, but that is his biggest problem, he doesn't. If he did he would be a lot more effective.
Now Easter is something else. He plays the role well. I think Taylor should play deeper in order to bring in his supposed playmaking skills.

It is amazing that such a dedicated player divides people so much. It's normally temperamental lazy types that split opinion so easily.
Who would you have: Taylor or Balotelli?
Well, it's a thought and we've got no game!

He was probably lost and sending up distress rockets.

Well, it's a thought and we've got no game! Too true! But back to reality for a second Mark, Taylor or Blisset is a fair and very real comparison for us and I'd go Taylor, esp alongside Easter. I do think a player like Easter can be an inspiration to an up and coming and I was struck by his kind words about Ellis in his interview the other day. I think Taylor could benefit from that too based on what we saw last night. Young guys need to know what they are looking for so I reckon he will not only be blinding on the pitch but a great presence for the club as a whole Right, now where can you get Barnet FM on this inter web thing?

Anyone know what the issue is with Blissett? Does seem odd he's not being given a chance, but is he injured / unfit?

He needs to be on good form to justify his place now we have options. I hope he's a long-term developer though.

Ok, just so I'm sure, can we go through this again.....? Taylor plays really well but doesn't score. He's poop. Taylor plays well and scores. They don't count. He's poop. Taylor plays poorly. He's poop. Taylor plays poorly and scores. He's poop. This is exactly it! C'mon Hugo get with the program. You also forgot Taylor become top scorer in the word, ever in existence................................ He's poop.

Why oh why oh why do you have to be pro Taylor and anti-Ellis or vice versa on this forum! It's possible to say they have both made vital contributions this year. For the record, Taylor has scored 13 league goals, of which 8 have been from open play (5 pens). Ellis has scored 7 goals, 6 have been from open play (1 pen). In all competitions Taylor has scores 14, 9 of which have been from open play. Ellis has scored 10, 9 of which have been from open play. It's nonsensical to say 'If Harrison was taking them' as he wasn't on the pitch in the first place for most of them and Taylor was fouled for at least two of his, for which surely even the most dour poster would give him some credit. This is not a criticism of Ellis by the way! Well done to both of them!
