Bristol Rovers boss Darrell Clarke will try to make two new additions to his squad before the deadline for loan transfers passes later this week.
Clarke is chasing a central defender to provide competition and cover for current first-choice pairing Tom Parkes and Mark McChrystal after Neal Trotman took a whack on the knee in training that will sideline him for up to six weeks.
Trotman has gone under the knife for a minor clean-up operation and that leaves Clarke short of options in defence going into the final six games of the campaign during which second-placed Rovers are hoping to overhaul Barnet to secure the one highly-coveted automatic promotion spot that would see them return to the Football League at the first time of asking.
Clarke, meanwhile, is also believed to be in the market for a right-sided midfielder to maintain the strength of his squad when wideman Adam Dawson returns to Leicester City at the end of his loan spell following the penultimate game of the regular campaign at Dover on April 18.
Should the title-chase go right to the final day of the season when Rovers will entertain Alfreton Town at the Memorial Stadium or if there is the need for a play-off campaign, Clarke is keen to make sure that he has the strongest squad possible.
Praying for LDV!

Good to see DC planning ahead by not only getting cover at the back but trying to add another right sided midfielder. As much as we all want to come top we might have to settle for the play offs and its very important to get a replacement for Dawson if we have to play additional games.

I can never understand why the loan system doesn't allow players to stay for the Play Offs, surely if the rules were changed at the start of the season no clubs would really object given they all use the loan system now?
Having said that what's LDV up to at present??

Having said that what's LDV up to at present?? I thought it did; if you sign them late enough. Isn't it just that they are only allowed to stay a max of three months
