After Grimsby's 1-0 away win over Dover why are so many fans panicking? There're six cup finals to go, and for us we take care of ourselves. Despite Grimsby's good form they can be very inconsistent, look at Chester a few weeks ago 2-0 up and threw it away! I hear people saying Grimsby have a easier run in... Not a chance! There're no easy games no matter what league position the opposition are in, and for us I am so confident DC will install that character and belief into the lads for the final push we will go up automatically. As for Barnet, I really think they will slip up whether that's against these so called "easier teams" and I really fancy Nuneaton to get something against Barnet. Only lost once in 7 games from what I remember? And an impressive away win at Macclesfield will only give them confidence against the big boys. Halifax and Gateshead are more than capable of getting something out of Barnet, and I just think we will have that bit extra about us that can be the difference. This Saturday is a huge game, but I am more than confident that the lads quality will shine through. What people need to remember Barnet and Grimsby will be intimidated by us through the squad we have for this level is incredible! It's up to us to do the business now and I really think DC will rally the players and have the lads fully focused with no complacency, regardless of the opposition. I believe we're more than capable of winning the next 5/6 games. Lets get behind DC and the lads which we have all season and spur the Gas to the title, we can do this!

I think with Easter now fit, Lines, Dawson, Taylor plus an addition we're going into these games stronger than when on that good run and will be to strong for teams. A win Saturday against Macc will send a message out to the others as they'll see this game as where we drop points. We want it in the Barnet players head that we've just beaten a rival.

Jesus, people are just enjoying the final games.
Looks like Barnet might score 100 goals this season, think we can still pip them by a point or two though, if not we'll steam through the playoffs.

Grimsby result last night is irrelevant. if anything it gives us some confidence that we could win our game there, and that Dover will be mid-table boredom by the time we face them.
If Grimsby overtake both us and Barnet, then fair play to them. they deserve to win the league if they can do that in the next 6 games.
If they can't, then it's play-offs for 2 out of the 3 of us. So nothing new there.
PERSONALLY, I really think we could win all our 6, and we might need to! I'm not saying we don't have a few toughies (macc will be a test, and ALL other 5 will be pressurised) but we could do it. And I'd prefer to have Dover away, with 3,000 Gas and Dover with nothing to play for, rather than Alfreton and Dartford away before the relegation matters are settled, and experienced mid to high table teams like Halifax and Gateshead at home.

I think Alfreton and Dover will be in safe boredom by the time we play. Both will be very tight matches though.
Kiddie will continue their amazing slide, and both us and Barnet will win there.
By the time we play Southport they will be safe or almost safe, and could be missing several first team regulars. we have to win it, and will.
Chester will be tight but Barnet will murder Nuneaton so we have to win it, and will.
We can beat macc. If we win, I think we will the title.

Positive points:
1. Alfreton are now unbeaten in 6 matches. They've beaten Kiddie and denied Chester and Lincoln 3 pts.
2. The next two games are the last of the season where we kick-off before the Bees. Win and we pile on real pressure.

Nuneaton have won 3 and drawn 3 of their last 6, thats win the league form. A win at Macc would be huge for us. Not only might others drop points when they play after, but 3 of our last 5 are home and they are about as soft as we could hope for. |

I agree that those games are against lesser clubs but my worry is that our downfall is usually against those lesser clubs. In a way I'd rather have Grimsby Barnet and Maccs as those three home games. I know what we're like, if we need a win in our last game at home against a " soft " side we'll probably draw. i really hope we can win it the game before that last game I don't think I could handle another Mansfield type situation. |
