Last post tonight and a lump in the throat job.
... introduced to GasHead family 50 years ago by my dad. He passed away in 2003, a lifelong fan before GasHead was an acceptable term in polite society. Anyway, brought seven tickets for May 17th to include my brother his two Bennett kids and me and my two boys + missus, so 6 Bennetts and 1 wife.
... unknown to me until a FaceTime call and e-mail this week my mum who listens to the Gas on BBC Radio Bristol has paid the whole £250 for us in his memory - he will be there in spirit ....

Best day I've had a Wembley even better thank 2007 with the Gas but made me think to early days and ...
Watney Cup Final 1972 the first competition with shoout outs in English football unless anyone knows different?
0-0 then 7-6 to us, The Blades had Tony Currie playing for them too
Not sure who scored all the penalties but side was
SHEPHERD ROBERTS TAYLOR GREEN PARSONS STEPHENS PRINCE JONES (WAYNE) GODFREY GRAB (BANNISTER) and SANDY ALLAN
BRYN JONES Came on for FRANKIE who used to live in Coalpit Heath where I grew up after early years in Fishponds

Eastville .10th Sept 1955 v Forest. We won 4-1 and I was hooked.Radford,Bamford,Allcock,Pitt,Warren,Samson,Petherbridge,Biggs,Bradford,Meyer ,Watling .( may have been Hooper). Dad took me to Ashton Gate ,previous week to see the other Bristol team play Swansea, but the friendliness at Eastville made my choice a no brainer.Born and bred in Totterdown, went to school at Hengrove but left school at 16 to join the RAF and have ended up in Staffordshire but the Mem only two and a half hour journey.Never missed a season since. Div 2- In those days. Now the Championship.

The yellow and blue of Shrewsbury Town was it - the key memory I have is of Dave Stone scoring so thanks for analytics on this "onefindunford". Magic memories and have rekindled a childhood friendship with a buddy who was saved from being a City supporter by my dad who used to take anyone who fancied going to Eastville, he saved another buddy too who I sat with at the recent strange game that was the Severn-side derby. My buddy is now working for the Gas on home matchdays!
So my start date in terms of going was 3rd September 1966 at home to Shrewsbury attendance 7,145 - Dave Stone scoring (at the Tote End) for a one-nil win, I was just approaching my ninth birthday. Been to both the play-off triumphs in recent years emjoyed the 2007 one and against the oldest oppos I ever saw suffered th one in 2015 it has to be said - 120 minutes of agony followed by 5 minutes of utter ecstasy! Wonder what 2016 holds?

Here's another memory from my early days .. Ian Hamilton.Genius.Still comes to games. That knee cartilage injury really ruined his career and along with the injury to Biggs ended our promotion prospects in 1965 ?
