Been trying to pin down my first ever game at Eastville. Any GasHead help appreciated.
I can remember the Arsenal 3rd round FA Cup game January 1967, also Bernard Hall injury game. My memory is first game was a 1-0 win with Dave Stone scoring but I can't identify which season or who against but Stockport rings a bell but they don't seem to appear in the fixture list. I started going sometime around 1965/66 I think. My early supporting seasons mainly Muller Road, junior enclosure and then North enclosure with my dad, Stan Bennett and his big buddy from St. George David Brooks who was to me as youngster a legend and shouted, "Cmon me babbers".
PS Been exiled in London since 1975 but still get to games and was there for the 5-1, #four to go lets do it!!

Hull City for me - 3-0 win late seventies! Will be at Wembley with my brother and mate who were also at the game! Followed by a 5-1 drubbing by Wolves! Was one of the 3,000 at the last game at Eastville! And the first at Twerton! Loved the team managed by David Williams! The old man was a City fan! Still find it amusing how we never ended up at Ashton Gate!!!

My first game was an away trip to Old Trafford. It was a cup match. Lost 4-0, not sure of the year. Best , Law and Charlton were the players I remember. I was taken by my grandmother on a train from Stapleton Road. Before that I only was allowed to reserve games because of the crowds. Anyone know the year and rovers team ?

January 1964? www.11v11.com/teams/manchester-united/tab/opposingTeams/opposition/Bristol%20RoversWe did beat them 4-0 up there in 56 and 2-1 in 72. I was too young to go in 72

Rovers v. Swindon. September 1966. My grandfather bought tickets in the South Stand for him, my cousin and myself. Won 3-0 I recall, but the abiding memory was how the South Stand seemed to sway violently whenever Rovers scored. Must have been the roar from the Tote End. Was hooked from that day forward. Kept the programme and managed to get it signed last year by Harold Jarman, Dave Stone and Ray Mabbutt.

My Dad never liked football so a neighbour of ours used to go to watch rovers at home one week followed by sh**ty the next my mum said he could take me so my first (and last apart from when they played the Gas) match was Bristol sh**e v Sunderland Sat 15th AUG 1970 4-3. My next was Gas v Shrewsbury 22nd August 1970 2-2 after which my choice was made never went to another sh**e game Forever Gas there was no choice guess it must have been in the blood UTG
