Puddy 6.-Nothing to do Lockyer 6.Solid .Poor passing Mc Chrystal 6.5.Solid and reliable Parkes. 6.5 ditto Brown 7. Confident display.too many corners straight to the goalie though. Dawson 3.Never in it,didn't take on anyone.Disappointing. Lines.6.5 Much better when he ups his tempo. Mansell.4.Peripheral.Not invloved enough Monkhouse.6.5 Glimpses of quality.Taylor 6.5 Started slowly but improved .Fouled when straight through but didn't go down!!!Took goal well.Too often tried to Dummy which fell flat. Harrison.Great goal 6.5..Excellent first half .Faded badly second half. Southport.4 neat in midfield but nothing at all up front.Liked the winger Evans.Far superior to Dawson but they had no -one else up front at all.Lucky not to have at least one sent off when Taylor was pulled back and Harrison assaulted! Ref.5. Started well very fit .Went a bit weird second half. Dawson really never in it and Mansell poor.Need more creativity and would put Sinclair in for Mansell if it were possible but sadly it isn't. Balanta. Not on for long enough even to have a kick Blissett.4

Puddy 6 quite frankly we could have used Macca as a "rush" goalie and had an extra outfield player Lockyer 6 defence is the best part of his game and we did not need much of that. Parkes 6 resorted to trying to beat himself by being too intricate at the back because there was no threat from the opponents Macca 6 got into second gear once to guide a low header back to Puddy Brown 7 dead balls and forward play put him a point above his back four compadres
Dawson 4 one over hit cross stayed in for Monky to volley back in for Matty's goal and then put in a sublime one that apparently a defender's touch helped deny the on rushing strikers but those two moments aside Daws failed to control the ball, beat his man or offer anything else creative. Mansell 6 mopped everything up unspectacularly giving Lines and Monky free reign to be creative Lines 7 hardly wasted a pass all match...but wasted several shooting opportunities!! Monky 7 looked after the ball well and unlike the others did not try to dummy it when it came to him so used his chances better than the others
Taylor 6 difficult having to play football in the opposite direction to your shirt, and when the Southport defender did not have hold of it it was because Matty was face down. However, when he did have space he was one of several guilty of overdoing the clever stuff - too many dummies whereas simple possession football would have brought better rewards. Harrison 7.5 given an early chance by their back four he remained in buoyant mood throughout carving out several chances. His last action could have resulted in a red card but the ref remained true to his inept performance and failed to make the right decision for the umpteenth time.
Neither sub was on long enough to rate. DC 8 got Harrison off the pitch in time which was the one decision that needed making during the game. Clearly the prep he did during the week was enough to beat an under strength Sandgrounders side Ref 0 must not be allowed to contaminate any football pitch Rovers are on ever again Southport 4 half a side missing through suspensions or injuries so not surprising the eleven they did play were game but ineffective.

Puddy 6 Lockyer 6 McChrystal 7.5 Parkes 7 Brown 6.5 Dawson 5 Lines 6.5 Mansell 6.5 Monkhouse 6 Taylor 5 Harrison 6
Blisset, Balanta. Not on long enough to rate. DC 6 Ref.1. Absolutely useless.Very worrying how he treated Harrison and Blissett and how he missed the pull back near the end which was clearly a straight red is beyond me. Definately the worse of a very bad bunch this season. How the lines man on the W/E side missed the pull back was more astonishing than the Ref not seeing it. Southport 2. Worst side at the Mem this season as far as I am concerned. Would not have scored if our team had gone home early.

Puddy 5 Not much to do at all
Lockyer 5 ok - did anyone see him cross the half-way line ?? McChrystal 5 competent Parkes 5 mix of good and bad Brown 7 excellent game, particularly going forward, sharp one-twos and full of energy.
Dawson 6 some good stuff from him - really should have hit target in 2nd half with one chance Mansell 6 good game Lines 6 very good first half - seemed to stop playing later in 2nd. Monkhouse 6 good game, passed it well.
Taylor 7.5 Very good game, got better as it went on, brave, clever, tricky. One goal and nearly another. My MOM. Harrison 7 Very good game, played aggressive and also played more like a team player today. Well done Ellis you are maturing into a man.
Subs: Blissett - not much cop - to short a time. Balanta too short a time
DC 7 - Played the right two upfront. Confused why Leadbitter didn't play at right back - I am sure we would've won by 4 or 5. Ref 4 Shouldn't have booked our two. Southport 6 played good football, dogged , had a go but had zilch up front.

Puddy 5.5 Nothing to do, distribution good
Lockyer 5 Again not much to do, McChrystal 6 Won everything in the air and solid Parkes 5.5 Solid in the air and tackles but tries to be to clever with his passing at times Brown 6 Good game
Dawson 4 Point extra for two good crosses otherwise useless Mansell 6 Does the dirty work no one appreciates Lines 5 Can't tackle, won't tackle,Mansell does this for him, otherwise ok, Monkhouse 6 One of his better games
Taylor 7 Worked hard deserved his goal, tried to be to clever on a few occasions Harrison 6.5 Deserved his goal, tried hard enough, booking a joke
Subs not on long enough Blissett booking also a joke
DC 8 Have always said Back Him Southport 4 Never in the game Ref 2 Bookings were a joke, free kicks always favoured Southport very weak on a few major decisions.otherwise useless

Puddy 6 Could of brought a deckchair and his pipe and slippers.
Lockyer 5 Good at defending, but does not get forward. McChrystal 6 Solid Game. Parkes 6 Did his job. Brown 7.5 Best of the defenders..
Dawson 5 Was not given the ball to feet enough. Mansell 6 Competent. Lines 6.5 Good game. Monkhouse 6 Kept possession much better.
Taylor 7 Great movement as usual and well taken goal, should of gone down when fouled and clean through. Harrison 7.5 Getting better all the time.
Subs: Blissett 5
Balanta N/A
DC 8 Job done. Ref 0 If he had of been wearing sunglasses and had a labrador with him i would of understood and given him a point.
Southport 5 Punchless.

Puddy 6 - Getting paid to watch a football match! Lockyer 5.5 - Usual, solid but unspectacular McChrystal 6.5 - Solid game, good in the air and made one or two important tackles. Parkes 5.5 - Terrible pass at one point and nearly messed up trying to be too clever, poor by his standards Brown 6 - Got forward a fair bit and linked well with Monky as per usual Dawson 5.5 - Disappointing but will his pace when he goes next week Mansell 6 - Competent Lines 6.5 - Made some good forward passes, good game Monkhouse 7.5 - MOTM, Very good game, 2 crosses for the goals, very useful and in the air and made some good forward passes. Taylor 6.5 - He's had better games where he hasn't score but moved well as usual. Harrison 7.5 - Strong 2nd for MOTM, was a hard choice to choose between him and Monkhouse, took his goal well and scared the living daylights out of the Southport defence. Subs: Blissett 4.5 - Didn't really do anything except get a booking Balanta 4 - Didn't see him on the ball and was getting beat too easily, I fear for us if he is Dawson's replacement. DC 7 - Job done, surprised he didn't make some subs earlier and personally I would have put Bell-Baggie on the bench. Ref 2 - Useless, got most of the decisions wrong, mainly against us but even some for us. Southport 4 - Poor outfit, battled but lacked quality. We didn't look amazing ourselves but still looked a couple of leagues above Southport.

Puddy 5 as per norm nothing much to do Lockyer 6 defended ok,but never overlaps like brown does Parkes 5 Made some silly decisions at times, but solid for the most part McChrystal 5 solid but hardly needed to get out of second gear Brown 6 good all round game Dawson 4 poor by his own standards Lines 7 good passing and didn't get rushed into giving the ball away Mansell 6 did the dirty work and tackled well Monkhouse 6 worked well with brown and nice ball back across for Taylor Harrison 7 good first half but looked better with Blissett as a partner,no protection from ref Taylor 6 nothing first half, did improve second half but not as good as he can be
Ref 0 should be sacked DC 6 we won without really getting out of second gear

Puddy 6 nothing to do my granny could have been in goal Lockyer 6 good defending but someone should teach him how to pass Parkes 7 dominant in air missed nothing on ground McCrystal7 Good solid pro what you see is what you get Brown 7 defended well and attacked at will Dawson 6.Service very poor to him and was marked by 2 all game, would i sign him for next season yes Lines 7 oozes class what we have needed all season Mansell 6.5 does the dirty work to allow Lines freedom to play Monkhouse7.5 seems to have got a second wind Taylor 6 there is a player in there but doesnt surface very often despite his goals not a striker Harrison 8 took his goal well, where could we have been if DC had shown a bit more courage earlier DC 6 not convinced even now and why must he keep tinkering hasnt he learnt from last season ref - 10 absolutely appalling cant recall 1 decision he got right all game.

Ellis Harrison is Man of the Match for the second game in a row, the first to win outright MotM awards in successive games since Tom Parkes against Nuneaton and Woking.
Southport's performance rated as one of the lowest of the season. Only Telford, when they visited the Mem, scored lower (3.6) than Southport's 3.8.
Puddy 5.8
Lockyer 5.6 McChrystal 6.2 Parkes 6.0 Brown 6.6
Dawson 4.9 Mansell 5.9 Lines 6.4 Monkhouse 6.4
Taylor 6.5 Harrison 7.1
Subs: Blissett 4.7 Balanta
DC 7.1 Ref 1.8 Southport 3.8
