Let's hear the truth, Mr Chairman
A very interesting quote and one which members of the press have been asking after finding out Nick Higgs on numerous occasions.

If you did not know the answer and were waiting for the buyer to wriggle out or stay in............what would you tell the supporters ? The truth or as close to it as they can without sabotaging the deal. It seems pretty obvious there are big problems here and the continual silence or the rehashing of old information is just not working plus it is fuelling the fires of speculation. I don't buy it at all that several MP's would just simultaneously get together to write this letter. My own take on this is that it is a last push by Nick Higgs to push the matter.

I have no idea what the little 'Village people meets Paloma Faith' emoticon means. I just thought it looked nice. and reminded me of the last time I saw Ras, at the underground club by the big roundabout.

I assume there is some scope for Sainsbury's pulling out (not saying they will) as surely the club would say there is no chance of the deal not being completed

I assume there is some scope for Sainsbury's pulling out (not saying they will) as surely the club would say there is no chance of the deal not being completed Let's be honest, there is one of three scenarios going on here: - Rovers and Sainsbury's are still having a love-in and just finalising the last few details.
- Sainsbury's are dragging their heels/might want to pull out. In which case I hope we negotiated a massive penalty clause back in 2011 or whenever it was...
- Rovers are dragging their heels/might want to pull out. In which case I hope we negotiated a tiny penalty clause back in 2011 or whenever it was...
I hope it's scenario one. I suspect it's scenario two or three. In which case I hope I'm right about the respective penalty clauses... I also suspect it's scenario two or three BUT EITHER Sainsbury's can pull out for a pittance or we can't pull out without triggering a massive payment... ...my reason for being so negative? What else are they negotiating about? Seriously? Both sides had time during the various appeals/delays to get the details nailed down.

Nothing good ever happens.

There is a fourth scenario and that is that Sainsburys want to go ahead but are stalling until maybe the start of another financial year. I dont know how Sainsburys work but maybe they are given regional budgets. When they originally muted a new store in Portishead it was suggested that their plans had been delayed to allow them to focus on the Mem. The greens set about disrupting the Mem and so Sainsburys proceeded with Portishead which will be completed in September of this year. Now that the Mem is back on , it may just mean that we have slipped back in the schedule. I am not trying to raise hopes but Sainsburys have been quite quick to cancel projects rather than just leave them hanging - which is obviously poor PR. I am certain that the Board know why the delay has occurred and maybe just this once they will make a statement

The issue is why they feel unable to declare the cause in honest explanation, given the previous positive public declarations they have made.
