Generates atmosphere though doesn't it? What are your suggestions bright spark? unless you have a group of 10-20 people with you who you know will join when you start off a song you get looked at like your a fecking lunatic. gaschat.co.uk/thread/3734/singing-section ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Clarke, Clarke, wherever you may be, He took the Gas to Wembley. When Mansell scored he ran 40 yards Print that Grimsby Town bast ards! I think that's brilliant and I hope it catches on. The last line is a great punchline but doesn't scan that well. I'd suggest changing it to: Print that you Grimsby, bastards I disagree. I think it scans perfectly the way Gas-Ed has it, i.e. with Bast and ards being separated. I would guess it is meant with an over emphasis on the "ards", so that it sounds like cards. Your version does not scan, unless maybe you separate Grims and by.

Every time we score/win " print that b.stards, print that b.stards"

Generates atmosphere though doesn't it? What are your suggestions bright spark? What you need is everyone who's going to sing grouped together, which we do have kind of with the blackthorn end but even in there most people just wont join in for whatever reason, unless you have a group of 10-20 people with you who you know will join when you start off a song you get looked at like your a fecking lunatic. Everyone pays for a ticket and is entitled to watch football however they want... but if you want to watch football quietly why stand in the middle of the blackthorn end! Simple fact is we just don't have enough people in one place who want to sing and jump around and make an atmosphere, same at most clubs, fans getting older, prices going up etc etc. You need a group of singers yes, but you also need decent chants, the 'FISH' song comes from the continent (like most songs now-a-days), so it won't be a bad thing looking there and adapting it here, simple songs are ones we should be looking at, like the Polski vid I put up. We should also stop this arrogance that we seem to think we have unique songs, so can't use chants that are already sung, when the majority of our songs are already being done, just with their own team name entered. One song we should carry on trying, is the Palace song, I banged on about this for ages with no prevail, but thanks to Facebook, it started gathering momentum, and was partly sung at Wembley, albeit just the chorus! The thing we have to start doing really, is continuation, singing a song once and stopping is gash! It sounds much better if its repeated a few times to gain that atmosphere, and hopefully see it spread around the ground!

I think that in the word bastards the emphasis is normally on the first syllable and that's what I was getting at with the different rhythm, but on reflection maybe I was being picky and baSTARDS works just as well ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) it's a great song and I hope it catches on.

I love all the classic football tunes but it would be nice if we could get something "new" to catch on, so how about...
To the tune of:
this club of mine - one and only, only white and blue these friends of mine, they are singing singing so faithful and true
and if you, would keep on winning oh how greatful i will be
THIS CLUB OF MINE

Otherwise it's impossible. Said it before but, even hi ho gets ruined because people are in some sort of rush even when the fecking music is playing!

I can't for the life of me understand why it happens, sounds so sh*t as well
