Having moved to Camarthenshire last September I became quickly aware of the plans by Camarthen council for a multi million pound development at Cross Hands. This development is to include a 250 home residential scheme, a new health centre, a petrol station and redevelopment of the local working mens club. The flagship scheme is/was to be a 65000ft Sainsburys supermarket. The entire scheme is a joint venture between the local council and developers George LB. The scheme has progressed in earnest since last Summer on the former brownfield site adjacent the A48 having been totally cleared, roadways etc all created. However and you have guessed it, Sainsburys have been continually fobbing the council off with "we are continuing to review the future of our Cross Hands site and will update the community asap. The local paper the SW Guardian has run another story in this weeks paper with Sainsburys making their usual comment as above, so I took it on myself to speak to the local reporter involved, Clare Snowdon who was totally unaware of the shananagins with BRFC and was delighted to get the info ref the High court action etc. I feel quite sure she would be interested to hear other gasheads sensible thoughts, as would the local residents of the area to hear what we think of Sainsburys. Her email is csn@swguardian.co.uk. UTG!

Not sure this is dirty tricks but just Sainsbury's realising it would be madness to continue to build new stores?

So why don't they come out and say so instead of just stringing the Council along in the same way that they seem to do all over the place? That I think is our case against them.
