Grimbsy Town fans are raising money for the club's transfer kitty via Crowdfunder. Their initial target was £20,000, and they've achieved £36,385 in just 5 days! Some local Euro Millions winners have also promised to match the amount raised, up to a maximum of £20,000. I heard about this via the Colin Murray show on Talk Sport, so the organisers are obviously media savvy, which no doubts helps to boost contributions. Grimsby Town Crowdfunder

We raise our transfer fund (vaguely) via the turnstiles?

Don't worry. I'm sure the club made a huge profit on things like selling replica shirts in the build up to Wembley, and..........oh, hang on......

Great idea. Would be better to have something to aim for which would benefit the club rather than a vague 'transfer fund'.
Maybe something that could be purchased which fans can use and in turn generate more income for the club?

Somewhere a little bit out of town so we could have the room to build and include a car park. Maybe somewhere near a uni or something to get students involved with the club? OR! What about a large shop or convenience store somewhere in our local area?

Wow, it's like fan-ownership without any of the upsides for fans.

If only we had some sort of CLUB where the FANS on this very FORUM could all chip in a small amount each season to raise money for the club and maybe even SPONSOR a player or something.
On second thoughts, you'd have to be a total idiot to think up something like that.....

There are actually rewards, improving with size of contribution, by the way.

Or maybe a new building to call home where we can all buy a brick?

To be fair the club don't use the money we give them through the turnstiles to much effect . Think I will keep my hard earned cash and donate it to my cider fund .
