A Summary of our Informal AGM Thursday 18th June
Venue: The Sportsman, Neville Road, BS7.
Around a dozen FFS Members were in attendance. If you were not there please feel free to raise questions/concerns/ideas you may have
Season 2014/15 saw us raise nearly £5000 taking our total over £12000! We Sponsored 9 players, One First Team match (Welling United - Guest: Christian McLean) and for the first time we became 1883 Club Sponsors, we also launched the successful “GasBill” fundraiser and gave away over 20 prizes to members the value of which exceeded £2000!
1. JTS and Parrot were re-elected as leader and Treasurer respectfully.
2. It was agreed membership fees would remain the same at £10 per person per season. We were reminded every penny raised goes to BRFC.
3. We agreed the name should remain the same and the “FFS” abbreviation is fine as it is.
4. JTS proposed a community ticket fundraiser but it was decided that it may interfere with the Community Departments good work.
5. It was decided we should aim to Sponsor at least 6 players, sponsor two home first team games and enter the 1883 draw again this season (funds allowing)
6. GasBill was unaminously voted to continue and the collection of payments was thought best to remain an “Honesty Box” type system with an occasional push/reminder in forum threads. It was also noted that a “GasBill” operator was required urgently to oversee and log pledges.
7. We decided to continue to Sponsor players that have not received a sponsor by season start with the exception of Tom Lockyer who we will Sponsor for the 4th consecutive season.
8. We have decided not to produce any merchandise at the moment for the FFS.
9. We will need to embrace all 3 forums more and help will be required on each forum to bump threads and help spread the word. JTS will continue to run the Twitter site but more “retweets” are required from members to again spread the word, please can followers remember to RETWEET not FAVORITE posts as favoriting posts does not spread the word (hope you know what we mean) the @ffsclub Twitter feed has nearly 700 followers at present. It was agreed maybe a presence on the Facebook Rovers Appreciation Page was required and we would need someone with FB savvy to copy/paste info occasionally.
10. To kick off the new FFS Season a Testimonial type thread will be started to encourage new members where existing members explain in their own words why its worth being a part of.
11. Parrot will approach Ian Holtby to ask if a special photo could be taken of a supporter in the Team Photo shoot..we would auction this place to raise more money for the club.
12. We will consider buying an advertising board at The Mem if funds allow to further promote the FFS.
13. The draw was made for the match worn shirts and 10 hospitality places at a future game.
