Why don't you try and contact the person that hosted the OF and negotiate a deal to get it back up and running but under a different banner? OTIB forum is run by the same person as the OF was and is not connected to City officially. If it costs a lot of money, then fans could pay an optional donation to pay for the site. Give the FC a ring to find out the contact for who runs it. For all the reasons given for why the OF was pulled, they should have no reason not to help you to resurrect it. We may be able to get all that internal contact stuff on the OP forum back, because it is bound to be just mothballed in cyberspace. I Think the guy is Tom F , but it all depends if the atabase and back ups were destroyed by the club  Nice to hear from you Jon, if you restart the ffs we are in |

Nice to see that you eventually found us JTS....
As always' you and the FFS have my support. We can't just give up after all that we as a group have done for BRFC no matter how small our contribution!!!

I am not comfortable with the FFSC being under any BRISA site/forum.
I don't use Twitter.
I am sure Jon will do what he thinks is right.
The FFSC will lose a few and gain a few supporters along the way I am sure.

good to hear from you jon, firstly, and I think I can speak for most.... why the f**k did they close down the OS without at least giving you a list of contact details of members, then later decide to say, they appreciate your help blah, blah, blah.... it's such a Dam hatchet job it's untrue, considering the amount of work you put in, making money for them for free... I always tell people that they shouldn't take things personally when offended by the actions of others, but in this case I can't justify that response, as I feel that you have been shitted on from a great height without any blame. and I feel pretty watered-off on your behalf.... just take things steady, it sounds like you've had a good think, and whatever you choose to do were with you mate.... can't argue with any of this. I also try to remember the old adage that 'offence can only be taken, not given' but it's hard when your heart feels that it is true. we, the fans, have been offended by this. Very badly. |

i read it all. It's not that long and not boring.
As others have said, just use your own best judgement and many of us will 'sign' back up to something similar.
Personally I wouldn't worry too much about split fora, and all the politics. That's just modern life. Don;t let it stop you in anything. In fact one good thing about the FFSC was that it wasn't political or exclusive. It was an open gentleman's and gentlewoman's smoking club that did well for our club. The accidental problem was that the Board use money unwisely. But you / we couldn't really have forseen that as we were just trying to help, in the blossom of youth.
I am SERIOUSLY disillusioned with the Board at the moment,and especially the 'fan's directors' being puppets on the Board. I wish they would resign, even if just to send a message to the businessmen on there who are used to getting their own way in life, and don't expect people NOT to crave power and to actually have a force of conviction to walk away from so called influence and power.
However I really don't want us to get involved in politics.
I just want a vaguely decent team to watch on the pitch.
I really feel the FFSC in any new guise has to find a way of supporting the club in a different way. I don't want the money going to them in general. How about any money only being used for a very specific item; probably a capital item, like equipment, minibus, kit, etc. This is quite normal in the charity world where funding is 'restricted' to a certain, discrete project.

Just a little request to RAS Please could we have a tab at the bottom of the thread that takes us back to 'Gasroom' as on long pages scrolling back to the top can be a bit tedious? Or am I missing it/need to change my settings? fanboy is looking at the code for you. |

If I was JTS I would say bollox to the club after the way he was treated by the bod,end of.
If however Jon can regain his enthusiasm to try and set up something new,I would join up and donate but only if it is to supply something/someone/somewhere even that would not happen otherwise,ie I won't fork out for anything that the bod will pay for anyway if a new ffs didn't financially back it/make it happen.Once bitten twice shy seems a good adage to apply to my feelings over the abuse of Jon and the ffs.

Lack of a platform now so many members are scattered. We are working on it, but it's gonna take time to see how things develop.
Concerns over some members not wanting the club to get the funds. Our aim was always to enjoy ourselves, promote togetherness and to increase income for the club we love. If we don't have a certain amount of trust in Bristol Rovers, we cannot work together. Are we involved with/going to combine with an Independent Supporters Group . Not at all. We will listen to them, as far as i can see they are not anti-board pitch fork wielding loonies, they have some constructive ideas, who knows they may turn out to be a galvanising force who engage with/progress the football club. They may be able to help The FFS and we may be able to help them. But rest assured we will always be in control of ourselves. If we can't help each other then we move on, and i know we'll move on with their blessing. What's happening. I do realise it looks like we have no direction at present, and in truth that is somewhat true, but The OF closing has changed many things, and i know i sound like the BOD but we have to get it right, whatever path we follow has to be the right one. I've probably put more hours into this than ever before right now and if i was gonna throw the towel in, i assure you i would have by now and made my own life a damn site easier (being honest). But, Please try to bear with me everyone i promise you i'm as gutted as you are. JTS

One of my main concerns was around the closeness with ISC.
You have gone a long way to alleviating my fears.

As honest as the day is long. Some people at BRFC should take a long hard look at themselves and realise there are people out there like you with plenty of ideas to offer. Now three weeks since the unthinkable happened and apart from Ward being sacked, along with three backroom staff, all we have had is a statement from the board saying all members of the board have been given tasks to be carried out
Not one of the said board has come out and told us what he is doing and asked for any help whatsoever. You would find more out from a secret society than the board of BRFC. Seems to me they are hiding behind their question and answer session sometime in July when what we all want is information now. Plenty of time has elapsed in my opinion to make decisions that are not knee jerk reactions which our Chairman was telling us about three weeks ago.

it is probably on here somewhere,the SC EGM is on Tuesday 17th June,7pm-9.pm.At the moment I'm told they are not sure which BOD's will be there.I will be there,just got to think of a good question to ask!Also think there is a vacant place on SC.

If you are not currently a member of the SC, anybody who joins by Friday, 13th June is able to attend. Plus those who were members last season.
