I remember a 6-0 win over Mansfield at Eastville in February 1966. Bobby was unplayable that day although he only scored once. Also recall the game at Old Trafford in 1973(?) Which we won and Bobby played at right back. Talk of ' legends ' is cheap. Bobby Jones was a true BRFC legend.

Definately a legend, the sort of player every gashead loves who gave 100% in every game for the quarters and in some of his time with us in the Blue shirt.

"Viva Bobby Jones" was one of those songs that needed completing, so perhaps we should have been singing something like this for him during the "Eastville for Entertainment" days. Great memories of Bobby Jones.
Viva Bobby Jones, viva Bobby Jones, viva Bobby Jones, viva Bobby Jones, viva! viva! Viva Bobby Jones - Viva! Bobby Jones is a Goal machine Everybody's gonna see, a sensation! A sensation! a sensation!
Viva Bobby Jones, viva Bobby Jones......

I seem to half remember that from my extreme youth. Was it: "Son, you'll be a Rovers boy and that's the way you'll stay. Son, you'll be a Rovers boy until your dying day". Don't remember ever hearing any verses though, just the chorus.

I recall we sang. When I was young my Father said, Son I have something to say. And what he told me I'll never forget until my dying day.
He said ,Son you are a Rovers Fan and that's the way to stay. Son you'll be a Rovers Fan until your dying day.
