Just seen on Facebook that Bobby Jones passed away today - anyone have any official confirmation? Very sad news, one of my all time favourite players.

Very sad news. A true Rovers legend, such speed. I remember against West Ham in the cup he left Bobby Moore standing.
Condolences to his family and friends.

I used to play footie with one of his sons' Neil, Bobby used to sometimes come along and watch us play on occasions.

A true Rovers legend, over 400 appearances in two spells and over a hundred goals and I had the pleasure of seeing him score quite a few of them, a tremendous shot on him and with him and Harold Jarman in the side we posed problems down both flanks for many a good team.
A wholehearted Rovers player who made up for any deficiences in skill with lots of effort and a fair turn of speed.
RIP Bobby!

my dad started taking me to football from about 1968 so bobby was an early hero during the exiting bill dodgin era.
