I've got a new QNAP Nas, and I'm trying to use Plex to stream home videos and photos to my 2010 Samsung Smart tv, but everytime I try I just get a message saying that the Nas has 'disconnected'. Is my tv too old? I have installed Plex onto the TV, and the Nas is the Plex Server.

Sounds to me like Nas has disconnected.
What do others think?

Mmmm, as I expected. The advice on here is probably about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.

How can I soar like an Eagle when I'm flying with Turkey's ? You could try the RSPB forum if you are having difficulty?

Just ignore them....just ignore them....just ignore them....
So, back to my Plex problem. If I try to access Plex on the Samsung it just says it's 'connecting' but doesn't actually do anything. I've got the latest version of Plex for the TV, and the latest version for the NAS. For the love of God there must be someone on here who is living in the 21st Century!?

Uninstall Plex, shut down the TV, start the TV, start Smart Hub, reinstall Plex and open Plex. When the screen with the pin code appears just press button A (the red button) on your remote to navigate to the home screen of Plex. Plex will ask now to add a server where you can choose for 'Automaticly add a server by using your Plex account' or 'Manually configure'. Choose manually and enter the IP address from your server, after select the button 'Add Server' on the screen (just navigate with the cursor or return button on your remote). When the server is accepted press the return button once on your remote and Plex will load the home screen with the 'Settings menu'. If not then choose 'Settings' with button A (the red button) on your remote and select 'Preferences' followed by 'Enter' on your remote. Goto 'Advanced' and uncheck 'Use Plex account to update server list'. Press return on your remote for go 'Back' (2x). Press return for goto 'Home'. Now press again return on your remote for 'Exit app' and select 'Exit'.
Do not quit Plex before changing the settings and use the 'Exit app' option which will save the settings otherwise you need to do the full procedure again!

I've already checked all of that. I think the answer will be to get a new tele. I need a bigger one anyway.

But thanks for that Hugo. For a while I thought I was trapped in some sort of 1960's timewarp.

I've found a quick call to the 0845 TechGuys4U Hotline in Mombassa usually fixes things in no time.
