Sorry if I have missed it, but is McCrystal injured? Hasn't played in the recent friendlies. Thanks

I'm afraid so. Not heard any recent reports on how he's doing though.

Yep, around two weeks into a 3-6 week knee injury, he's hoping to be back for the Northampton game.

Yeah spoke to him at the fun day. He's expecting to miss the first few games. or will it still be touch & go? "From the moment I got injured in training I was positive that I would do everything possible to try and be back in time for the start of the season. It will be touch and go, but if I don't make it, it won't be for the want of trying

Yeah spoke to him at the fun day. He's expecting to miss the first few games. And the rest, if J. Clarke is as good as people are saying.

Yeah spoke to him at the fun day. He's expecting to miss the first few games. Sounds sensible to me - the injury time-frame means he *could* be back in the first couple of game, but why risk it? Nearly every opposition player will be at peak-fitness for the first couple of games, so coming back too early means at best you'll be off the pace and at worst you'll get injured again. Hope DC doesn't feel the need to pick him until he's ready...

I reckon he will struggle to get back in the side. He is the worst footballer we have. Strong as an ox but terrible distribution and useless as an attacking option plus far too immobile and slow off the mark. Clarke and Parkes should nail it down.

Clarke's natural position is right back, Lockyer I reckon will be the back up CB. McChrystal might not be the best player in the world but his experience and leadership is vital to that back line, look how disorganised Lockyer and Parkes was at Chelt. People should realise how vital Macca and Mansell are to this team, I really hope their legs last the season or we could run into some trouble.

I would have said the same early last season but for me he was a key player come the end and I think he'll be a miss. It's a big step up for Clarke. I think DC would have stuck with Parkes and MM for the first game.

No, he's a decent player but a rubbish footballer. I think its important for our defence to be able to find a teammate when clearing or passing having just won the ball. Macca gives the ball away more than any of our other defenders because his passing is poor and he cannot use his right foot. If he improved that part of his game, or if the MF would work double hard to provide him a simpler outlet it would improve us a great deal.

Lockyer has filled in at CB a couple of times in league games and been fine.

I bet TL wasn't expecting this early an opportunity to cement his place in the middle? There is some competition at RB and I don't like Tom in midfield. Although he has played loads of games he hasn't really got a solid grip on a particular position so maccas injury is that opportunity for him.

You're thinking of whathisname who plays up front who misses all the chances.
