I await the answer to what will happen to pay off the Wonga loan if (/when) the appeal fails. I don't see what solution there is. And if there isn't one, the board have made the biggest **** up of them all, and they need to try their hardest to let someone else take over. I'll be staggered if the board's approach is anything other than "we'll cross that bridge when we get to it". I can only assume that it'll be another loan with the Mem as collateral (it being our only remotely valuable asset), since they seem to have stopped putting their own money in.

My favourite part about this whole story is that we have someone running the twitter account who either wants Nick Higgs out or is a complete ...there's no middle-ground, they either understood the intent or have no idea how the internet works (all the clues are there)....

Which is why it's a good story. Maybe not an entire article, but it's good for a diary piece.

And no problems with the non playing part of operations? Stadium aside, what are the problems with the non playing side of the club? Is that a serious comment?

Don't see anything wrong with the article besides the fact that a proper newspaper would find something better to cover. Anyway, I agree with the sentiment behind the original tweet. Our board is a f*cking embarrassment, and DC will only be able to plaster the cracks in BRFC for so long. Heh heh. You said cracks. Talking of which, I got plaster in my eye on Saturday. Quite a lot of it and I have really hurt my eye. The lyme in plaster is actually worse than getting acid in your eye. I managed to get a nasty chemical burn over 100% of my cornea as well as scratching. Spent 2 hours in A&E getting my eye flushed. I have been told I will recover fully in about a week. It took until yesterday before I could open my eye properly and its still sore now. My vision hasn't properly recovered yet. I had no idea how caustic and dangerous plaster is. Stay safe out there kids. Heh, heh....It wasn't plaster that caused the Red Eye was it !

We do not need articles like this in a local paper, we need everything to be perfect, we get promoted every year and we make millions. These boards inc twitter and facebook have people of genius on them, they can run the club and make everything well. More than likely they could not run the birds off the garden and live in bedsits sat at the old PC in dirty, egg stained string vests and P stained pj's, but they deserve a chance, lets get behind them and see where it takes us ! Come on Gasheads, are you ready to march ? WARNING , before starting this please remember, we have the staying power of a 13 year old on his first night of passion, we say a lot but we only stay on track for about a week before we slip back into doing..........NOTHING. Sometimes we just have to accept someone else, how ever bad they are at doing something just might do it better than we can.

Terry Nutkin aka Basel has always had an axe to grind with the Board, they are far from perfect however I haven't seen a credible alternative to them yet.
Go on tell me about the clubs thriving under fan ownership (few and far between in reality), all these investors queuing up to invest with the clubs best interests at heart.
In my opinion ride out the storm and continue doing what we fans do best, support the team.
Bring it on Saturday

Or they just retweeted without noticing the message? There are mistakes made all over the internet. Of course there is middle ground.

Sadly with hole NH has dug administration is probably the only way change can happen.

Bring it on Saturday Wycombe, Exeter and AFC Wimbledon are fan owned and have outperformed us on the pitch for at least the last couple of years (on much smaller gates). Yes, they have debts but so do we! Perhaps because Wycombe is fan owned, volunteers working at the stadium this summer have given 120 man days of their time. A suggestion that we do similar never got off the ground. www.wycombewandererstrust.com/category/general-newsUnfortunately, clubs only seem to become available for fan ownership AFTER massive debts have been run up and normally when a club is already in administration.

Casey, or, they win the appeal and all is well ? who knows, it's part of lifes rich tapestry. All things go around, good, bad, good, bad, round and round it goes, where it stops no body knows.

Do you believe Nick Higgs and his fellow board members are above reproach and have made no mistakes worthy of criticism? If providing his managers with a competitive budget every season is a mistake, then I suppose Nick Higgs has made plenty. Is it Nicks fault that the playing side has struggled the last few years? Your absolutely right, Bristol based millionaires with a passion for football and a very thick skin are quite clearly every bit as available as bus drivers.

If providing his managers with a competitive budget every season is a mistake, then I suppose Nick Higgs has made plenty. Is it Nicks fault that the playing side has struggled the last few years? His mistake was giving it to the wrong people to p**s away. Our turnover was £4.3m a couple of years ago and we were known as one of the highest payers. We didn't need to be losing £500k-£1m every year and threatening the future of the club. Now we have to underspend, and will still be losing a bucket load thanks to mismanagement. Thank god for Darrell Clarke who is showing them a different way of doing things. The interest on the Wonga loan alone would be enough for 3-4 extra players, which could very well be the difference between 10th and 3rd. If DC hadn't dragged us back into the football league, we would be in utter meltdown right now. The board may have their heart in the right place, but they are stubborn, out of date and short sighted. At some point, they have to be held accountable for that. How many more £m do they have to spunk away before you deem them acceptable for critisism? It's OUR money they are throwing away. If they want to write off their loans, then by all means they can spend what they like in legal fees. When we moved to the Mem 20 years ago, we were in league one. Now we have debts approaching £10m, narrowly averting long term disaster in the non league, and have a ground which has had nothing done to it (apart from that paid for by the fans) apart from a tent behind the goal. Spot on

I wonder if the speakers in the Blackthorn end work yet? There's a safety issue right there. Been faulty for years. It doesn't help that our safety announcer's voice is ridiculously quiet either. I don't think I've ever understood a single safety announcement.
