Regardless of atmosphere where does everyone find the best place to stand? Personally I prefer the side as you get a better view and perspevtive of the game.
I watch my son play local league football and would never stand behind goal but I do like the atmosphere in the blackthorn terrace and tend to stand there as you have great noise and excitement from the fans and the acoustics from the roof, even though the view isn't great. The poplar terrace at Bath was the same and the east end when we would often take it over-amazing noise! If we stay at the Mem is it possible to have a roof on the East Terrace with the structure we currently have in place and perhaps raise money like we did before?

I like sitting up in the East stand because you get a really good view of the whole pitch. Not as much atmosphere as in the Blackthorn is the only downside for me

There was word that the East Stand would be extended to the ends. Couldn't of been that expensive, shame it never happened. Would of added 2,000 to the capacity and improved the look of the stadium. Instead we became the only stadium in the country to boast its own tractor enclosure.

Once or twice a season I'll venture to the side just for a holiday. The view of the game is better, but it's the Blackthorn for me. Atmosphere is good, and 50-50 we'll score right in front of my face, people and players going mental together.
It's dry when it rains too. The atmosphere under lights, packed in on a wet night against Barnet last year was probably the best .

Blackthorn, couldn't imagine going to football without making any noise I'm in the south stand. It's a library! I've been in there a few times with the boy for cheap seated tickets but it also gets really breezy in there and chilly. I've never tried to get a seat in the west enclosure but I imagine they're the better seats. If we had some sort of roof on the east terrace I imagine a lot more would stand there.

I've never tried to get a seat in the west enclosure but I imagine they're the better seats. If we had some sort of roof on the east terrace I imagine a lot more would stand there. I had a ST in the West Stand in the 2007 promotion season. Brilliant view, quick service in the bar and the atmosphere filters up at bigger games. You do get funny looks though if you go too mental when we score. I've also been up in the East Stand on many occasions. Great view, longer queues in bar, average atmosphere but occasional opportunities to abuse visiting supporters. East terrace, good view, reasonable atmosphere, same bar. I think the upstairs bar is hospitality only? South stand, average view, crap atmosphere and no bar. That said, I ended up in there for the Fulham cup replay when the Blackthorn sold out and it was awesome. As for the Blackthorn, poor to average view depending where you stand and long queues for everything. Unbeatable for atmosphere at big games though. My conclusion: watch build up play from East Stand, nip down to the Blackthorn for goal and celebrations, drink in West Stand.

I stand on the East terrace. Somewhere between the dugouts near the back. I had a season ticket for years up in the East stand and the view is brilliant. I love the atmosphere behind the goals at away games but I like to be able to actually see what's going on.
