Back for a new season, the Player Ratings threads
A few changes: No rating for Darrell, I feel he should be judged over a season not just on whether he made a good sub or not Please rate all players, but in the season ratings I'll only count appearances of 20 mins or more. New crowd rating and name the opposition's best player.
Obviously, you can rate whatever you want, but this is the framework I'll stick with this season.
Mildenhall
Leadbitter J. Clarke Parkes Brown
Sinclair Lockyer Lines Montana
Taylor Easter
Subs: Harrison Monakana Bodin
Crowd Ref Northampton (+ their star man)

Mildenhall 5. Nothing to do
Leadbitter 5. An o.k. game that's all Parkes 5. Average game. Clarke 6. Thought he did quite well considering it was his debut. One for the future. Brown 5. Didn't look up for it today, perhaps not 100% fit.
Sinclair 6. Huffed and puffed.Felt sorry for him.Played out of position. Lockyer 4, The undroppable Tom. Same as the Beard. Lines 4. Not his best game. Montano 3. Low score is not all his fault.Completely starved of the ball by the Clueless Ones tactics.
Easter 4. Did nothing to effect the game.p**s poor Taylor 1. I give him that for managing to put his shirt on the right way round.Poor poor excuse for a striker.
Clueless Clarke 0. Got everything wrong today. Can it get much worse?. Lets bloody well hope not.

Mildenhall - 3 Very Poor and very slow
Leadbitter - 6 Did what was needed and looked good going forward J. Clarke - 6 Pick of the bunch at the back Parkes - 3 Did not have a clue today and looked a bit ponderous and CANNOT pick a pass out to save his life Brown- 4 Looked unfit and missed his mate today
Sinclair - 5 Not and never will be a winger - should have played alongside Lines Lockyer - 4 Not and never will be a Midfield player - Should have played full back with Leadbitter wide infront of him Lines - 6 Did Well First half looked at bit watered off 2nd half but kept going Montana - 4 Not enough service but looked ok when he had the ball
Taylor - 3 Will have better games but again if you lump it up to him with a 6 foot 20 player behind him he will struggle Easter - 3 would not have been out of place with the British diving team today
Harrison - 3 Not sure he even wanted to play today by the way he walked around the pitch Monakana 4 give him the ball and i'm sure he will get better Bodin - 4 Did ok but lack of service did not help him
Crowd - 6 Good crowd not sure about the boo's at the end Ref - 5 Missed the Pen but thought he was fair with both Teams Northampton Did their homework on us and had a great Centre Back who knew how to keep our forwards subdued - Star Man - Potts

Mildenhall 5 Needs to throw the ball out to his fullbacks more.
Leadbitter 5 Got forward when he could and made a few good challenges. J. Clarke 6 Best Rovers player by a mile. Parkes 5 Did ok but looked nervy at times. Brown 5 maybe still feeling the effects of his injury.
Sinclair 6 Ran his heart out as usual but wasted out wide. Lockyer 3 Ineffective in central midfield Lines 4 Tried hard to keep possession but was easily out muscled. Montana 3 Looked off the pace but to be fair to him the supply to him was non existent.
Taylor 2 Off his game today. Easter 4 Not enough decent balls played to him on the deck.
Subs: Harrison 6 Looked lively, should have equalized with his chance. Monakana 5 Showed some nice touches. Bodin 6 Good close control, looks a decent signing.
Crowd 6 Ref 3 Very poor. Northampton (+ their star man) 8 Cresswell. A rock at the back.
As far as i am concerned DC lost us this game by his team selections. As we all know Sinclair is totally wasted out wide, this was proved last season but the lessons were not obviously learned. He needs to play him in central midfield.Playing his favorite Lockyer there is a complete waste of time, you might get away with it in the conference playing part timers but here in league two against a streetwise hard working team you got no chance.Don't get me wrong i think young tom is a great versatile squad player, but we had other obvious options today that he just got wrong.
I also cannot understand the logic in repeatedly playing aimless long balls forward, when you have two small strikers being marked by two giant center halves. If this is our tactics then surely we should be using either Harrison or Bliss or both,at least they have a chance of winning a header.

Mildenhall 5 - Distribution poor. Leadbitter 5 - Not given many chances to get forward. Clarke 7 - Pick of the defenders. Parkes 6 - A few dodgy moments Brown 5 - Very quiet, is he fit? Lockyer 3 - Totally out of his depth Lines 4 - Expected better, very poor. Sinclair 4 - Plenty of energy spent but no end product. Central midfield or nowhere as far as I am concerned. Montana 4 - Not given any space by Northampton but no service to him from our players. Taylor 2 - A boy against men, no strength, a totally embarassing performance made even worse by a horrendous miss. Easter 4 - A few nice touches but we will get nowhere with him and Taylor paired together. Like to see Blissett and him together.
Harrison 3 - Echos of hi performances for us in the relegation season. Easily looked after by their centrebacks. Monakana 3 - Spent more time defending and that was not very impressive, again needs the proper service as Montana Bodin 3 - Pretty anonymous I thought.
Ref 3. Was he from Northampton? The throw in when he initially told their fullback where to take the throw in from and then the fullback was invited by him to take it from where he fancied i.e thirty yards farther up the pitch, summed up his performance.
Northampton. No one player for me, felt man for man they were far better than us, streetwise as well as footballing wise.

Mildenhall 4 very poor distribution, not helped by fullbacks being to narrow to receive the ball. Then why kick the ball to an area where there are no blue and white shirts
Leadbitter 5 reasonable game J. Clarke 6 best of back four Parkes 4.5 can do a lot better Brown 5 not up to his usual standard, one good very clearance
Sinclair 5.5 not a wide player, showed his usual energetic display without doing much with it Lockyer 3 not a midfielder very poor Lines 3 supposed to be a midfielder, very poor performance Montana 3 did not impress, did not do anything of any note, even when he was given or had the ball
Taylor 3 what is the point in lumping high balls to him, with giant centre backs, should have scored, overall very ineffective Easter 3 as above, very evident that he has very little or no pace,
Subs: Harrison 4 could have scored with his one chance otherwise did not do much Monakana 3 did nothing to impress Bodin 3 can't remember him having any influence on the game
Crowd 5.5
Ref 3 did he come from the Conference school of refereeing
Northampton (+ their star man) 6 did not have to do much as we played straight into their hands or onto their heads. Cresswell was good without breaking to much sweat.

Some of the ratings for Easter are very harsh! Perhaps you will do the honours and post your ratings if you were at the game?

I tend to agree with GGMI and thought Easter particularly early on showed good awareness and strength and ability but then realised he was not going to receive any service. Lines should be much further up the pitch and if we are going to play with wingers then DC they do need to be given the ball to feet.

Hmm if this was them up for it and raring to go I'd hate to see them lethargic and off their game!
Mildly 6 kept well enough one very good save to deny a second Leadbitter 5 injected some pace but all back four were culpable of consistently poor defending Parkes 3 off the pace and poor distribution Clarke J 4 mopped up a couple of times and cocked up a couple of times Brown 5 good to have him back but rusty after the injury lay off in pre season Sinclair 4 one good tackle on JJOT and lots of chasing about but in the wrong place and ineffective Lockyer 3 square peg, round hole. I said he could be a CM in L2 this season...not on this showing. Lines 4 not at the races Montano 2 wasn't given the ball much but didn't seem to want it and did nothing with it when he got it Taylor 2 got the ball a fair bit, shouldn't have, couldn't do anything with it. The more time he had to think about it the worse his decisions got Easter 4 almost manufactured something from a mildly long kick and got through once in the 2nd half but ran out of steam...and did not appear to have much steam to start with.
Harrison 5 almost pulled one out the bag at the end and executed one excellent fly hack at a defenders legs worthy of a booking! Monakana 3 slightly more effective than the man he replaced ..but not by much. Bodin 1 no need for his kit to be washed between games!
Northampton weren't much better than us - but they were better and on that basis deserved the win. Northampton no.6 was best player on the park ..sad indictment of our effort that a barely used keeper was the only player to even put in an average game.
